Normality Once Again

The past week went by in a blur. Things are finally getting back to normal around the school once again. While we will always miss Susie, she would want us to carry on, and so we are.

Today was a ghostly gray day to wake up to. This picture was taken early this morning looking down into the valley from our front window.
This picture was taken looking down the road towards the main street leading from the south that runs past our little side street.

Wisps of fog deadened the sound of the vehicles passing by. Once the fog lifted I could once again hear the sounds of passing vehicles and people walking. It always amazes me how fog can deaden sound.

The grass is greening up, and Harvey and I are planning a trip into Regina to visit one of the larger greenhouses this Sunday. I told him it could be my Mother's Day gift......plant shopping.

Speaking of plants. Does anyone know anything at all about orchids? I have managed to keep this one alive for two years.

Lots of interesting things happening to it right now, I just don't know if any of these green off shoots are flower stalks! Help!!!!

Well off to visit everyone, it has been awhile. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Jackie,

My deepest and sincere condolences on the passing of your friend and her daughter. Such a tragedy.

It's very foggy in your neck of the woods. We are along a river, so we get fog in spring and fall mostly.

    Enjoy your evening, my friend.
    Blessings,
    Mary

  2. Hi Jackie, It's hard to carry on with our everyday lifes after a death but we have no choice. I have 3 orchids that are doing the same thing. I hope they are flowers. Some of my leaves are splitting down the middle do you know what causes that. I'm not even sure what they like sun, shade, moist, but like you I have managed to keep it alive for over a year. OH~~~ I Jackie what a wonderful way to spend mothers day, I wish I could join you.
    Have a wonderful night,
    Ginger

  3. I was saddened to read of your friend and her daughter's death. So very sorry for this terrible tragedy.
It was foggy out here in West Texas yesterday, too. I so love adverse weather so fog, rain, clouds, all make me very happy. Nothing I love better than a soft, gentle rain...I just LOVE IT.
    Take care..
