Saturday Roundup

The weather is getting colder and this morning brought a skiff (as Harvey would call it) of snow on the ground. Since there was no wind I went for my morning walk and really enjoyed it after a day of blustery winds when there was no way I could walk and stay warm.

My computer is acting up and I think we may have to take it to the computer doctor next week. I can't upload pictures from our cameras and that is pretty bad considering Christmas is around the corner! I have been taking them with my tablet and then emailing them to myself. Seems to be working, but it is a great deal of extra steps and slightly time consuming. Even so I am glad that I can still find a bit of a work around.

Harvey spent this week working on a surprise project for what he calls my "woman cave" (I call it my sewing/craft room).

He made a frame for my University diploma. He found it lying on a counter in the basement and figured I worked hard to receive it and should hang it up and show my pride. He even used things he had lying around his work room.

The small plaque beside it was presented to me in 2000. I was working as the Youth Coordinator for our parish and one of the youth decided I needed to be recognized for the "above and beyond" that I went through. One of the television stations here in Saskatchewan had a segment called "Hero of the Week" so she nominated me. I actually won and the station came down and filmed a segment of our Youth Group meeting. I think I am most proud of the fact that I planted seeds which are still growing today.

I have been using up leftovers from the fridge freezer from various packaged up leftovers. Today I made this....

A Turkey pot pie. In making this I used up some pie crust, turkey, and the last of a bag of frozen corn. I added some frozen peas and frozen carrots. Popped it in the oven. And it came out like this.

A lovely and filling supper for the two of us with 2 slices leftover for another meal next week.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

that pie looks and sounds so good. I've never made one but intend to do so someday...
You are so frugal...I wish I was more like you.
