It has been cloudy and windy all day, but the forecasted rain keeps missing us. Seems the clouds go to either the east or west of the city. We really do need some rain, and need it quickly.
So what have I been up to this week that I can share with all of you.
Over the week I have added many inches to the first tea towel.
I will need to add another 12 inches to the whole thing before I can finish off this first one.
Then I finished 10 pairs of mitts.
These are the smallest size I have a pattern for, and I will do the next size up next month. Probably another 10.
These are the bags of chunky/bulky yarn I have cut in readiness for the rug project once I start that.
Working on the rose embroidered quilt squares once again. I am getting a bit faster at these now.
I planted the two orange seeds that Hubby found in his seedless oranges. Not sure if they will grow, but there is no harm in trying.
The beginning of the sage infused oil. Hopefully by the beginning of August I will have some sage salve to show all of you.
I think dehydrating will be taking place this month. This is a bit early but the thyme, and oregano have pretty much gone a bit crazy. I will probably have enough to refill my spice jars and make some oregano salve, must check and see if there is a thyme salve as well.
I hope to share pictures of my flowers next week, things are starting to happen in that area. Wish that things were larger and fuller but what will be, will be.
Off to set the table, make a salad and then spend some time visiting with all of you.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
You are so talented/skilled! I am eager to see how your salve turns out. I will have a lot of extra herbs this year, and I can't infuse vinegar with all of them.
ReplyDeleteThe tea towel is looking good so far and wow, ten pairs of mittens already! That’s great. I hope the orange seeds grow and that you’ll get some rain soon.
ReplyDeleteI have grown lemon, lime and orange pips, they do take easily, lovely plants, sadly never grew any fruits on them.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the orange seeds will sprout.
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly kept yourself busy! I wouldn't worry about your flowers, it is early days yet.
ReplyDeleteWe've been getting the rain here, it has been raining off and on since Thursday evening and the forecast suggests it will continue for the next week. Which is a good thing, as the young gal who will be checking on the house won't need to water.
You always have so many interesting things on the go...I doubt you ever get time to get bored!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I throw out the avocado pit I keep thinking I should at least try to sprout it.
ReplyDeleteIt was extremely windy here on Friday and the guys said there were snow flurries - it didn’t stick but it got down to around 28. But they all had fun!
What a fun week!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are always busy with so many projects. That pile of mittens looks great, and I seem to remember you send them to your son the school teacher. Although weaving a tea towel takes some time, it must be so satisfying to actually make your very own!
ReplyDeleteWow look at you go! So many skills and talents. I am jealous, would really like to learn to weave.
ReplyDeleteYou've been super productive lately. I love those cute little mittens. I bet they are well received. The tea towel on the loom is looking great. I have a small loom that I need to learn how to use. It's a children's loom, but it would make something small.
