It has been a quiet and rainy day here on the old homestead. I got up after a very restless night, and some aches and pains. It made sitting in a pew at Mass very difficult. I told Harvey no going out for brunch, I just wanted to get home and put some heat on my back.
I sat at the loom with the heating pad for an hour. I am actually within a few inches of getting the first tea towel completed. I will use the new way I found of finishing the ends so they will not fray or move around on the warp. Once done the item will be removed and the warp retied for the second one. Hopefully this second one goes a bit quicker and I may have enough for a third but that will need to wait for a bit.
I have also worked on the embroidery for a little while. I hope to get back to that now that supper is started and cooking very slowly in the oven. Pretty sure there will be enough for another meal later this week. Simplifying my meal prep is going to be next on my journey to a simple balanced life. Warming items up and picking sides takes no time at all in comparison to making whole new meals almost every day. I do love to cook, but it does get a bit tiring at times, and Harvey does not mind leftovers at all as long as they are not served two days in a row.
Off to visit with you all a bit, and then back to embroidery and then cutting pieces for the rug project that I have planned for later.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
So happy you have rain. So sorry your back is bothering you - take care.
ReplyDeleteMeals can be quite simple for me - it is nice your hubby likes leftovers, that sure helps.
Have a good week.
We call them 'planned overs' because the RC cooks with them in mind. He usually has two (or sometimes three) different 'mains' on the go and alternates between them.
ReplyDeleteIt's a hot day here in our neighbourhood but I'm not complaining. After working this morning, I am hoarded up inside with the a/c running. That is a luxury we don't use often but to be comfy, we don't mind.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get some rain and I hope your back is feeling better soon. Bailey doesn’t mind leftovers either, which makes my life easier and I’m all for that. 😂
ReplyDeleteIt does get tiring making a full, new meal every night! So sorry your back is hurting.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, I do love to cook but the endless choosing and making of meals does get a little tiring. Tony also doesn't mind leftovers so it's a win when I can refashion the same meal in some way. Sorry to hear about the aches...have to pace yourself. Wish I lived close...I would love to check out your weaving...
ReplyDeleteHooray, you finally got some rain. We had another 3/4" over the last day or so.
ReplyDeleteSorry your back was giving you grief, but it seems you didn't let it slow you down at all.
I'm fortunate here, as my daughter and I often share the meal prep and cooking most days. We've done some meal planning as well and find it helps us out.
I am sorry you are down in the back as my grandmother used to say. Nothing is worse as it affects your whole being.
ReplyDeleteA bad back makes you feel old, I can attest to that! I do hope the heat pads are giving you some comfort.
ReplyDeleteWell done with the weaving. I look forward to seeing your finished items.
