Sunday Thoughts

Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. So far this school year it really hasn't been. I have been playing catch up on my weekly household chores and spinning my wheels in the process. I think in the last three weeks I have actually had one Sunday where after Mass I could sit and enjoy all of God's creation around me.

Today is not going to be any better. I have a load of laundry in that will be ready to be hung in a few minutes, another load ready, and a third load in the midst of being sorted. This afternoon I have a church related meeting just about an hour away, and yesterday I spent all day in Regina at another church related meeting.

Don't get me wrong I love my church, and the meeting yesterday was so very interesting. It was on Stewardship and being good stewards of our time and talents. It has just made me wonder if I am being a good steward of my time....... I think this is something I need to ponder in prayer for the next week or so.

Thought that I would show you all the scarf and toque that I have made for Kurt for Christmas. There is also one mitten sitting there as well.....the other still on my needles....hopefully finished this week.

Off for a quick visit

Everyone have a wonderful restful Sunday. God bless.

  1. Jackie,

It sounds as if you are really run ragged. Take a little time for yourself, even if it's just 15 minutes. Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and sit down and take in the beauty of the season. All work and no play isn't good.

Kurt is going to love the scarf, hat and mitts. Homemade gifts are special.

Take care and try to take a few minutes to enjoy.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  2. You are so crafty too. I so wish it wasn't hard to ship big items to you id go nuts.
I hope your box makes it faster than usual, but this is my first swap and we all learn.I never had a friend in Canada, but Pea and we haven't traded gifts yet,so this time I know.
I know what you mean about a day of rest. I carried a client to church and then lunch and then she had to go to the drug store. It was well into the evening. Now this morning I have to go work 10 hrs. I feel my body calling for rest and my fall things are needing to be put out also.

  6. Jackie, I agree, Sundays are supposed to be a day of rest, but for us, and my husband especially, it's one of the busiest days of the week.
I would love to make something like you've made for Kurt. I'm still learning, though, and I think it looks a bit beyond my abilities! ;o)
Take care, and make some time for yourself!
    Blessings,
    Karen

  7. So much to do, with so little time. Sounds like you are doing some wonderful things with your church.

Hopefully you can rest up. I love your knitting projects. I love to crochet, but have not learned to knit (yet).

  8. The scarf is so nice!! you are a busy lady. I know what you mean about being a good steward with your time. I think about that often. I am tring to make my life more simple. Jackie I hope that you can get some rest! Hey is there any way you can miss a day of work? Just to do nothing or something you want to do? Enjoy your tea that another blogger mentioned you should have, I agree with her!!! It's hard being a woman these days we do a bit of EVERYTHING.
