It was wonderful having the boys here together for a few days. Kurt stayed for just a week, but managed to do lots around the house that we just could not accomplish. Kris did some techie things for us as well. Even on the hottest day of their time here both of them dug out some old stumps so their Dad could plant grass.
Once they were gone I started to deep clean their rooms. Now that is done I can start on the rest of the house before the garden produce takes up much more of my time.
However the massive clean up of their rooms did cause me a few problems. I ended up with a massive backache and had to rest for a bit. I could only sit for so long, and needed to walk around every so often. It is better now, but did come back after picking raspberries a few days ago. Rested, took a pain killer and things seem to be better again.
I didn't get as much done on my projects as I had hoped but will share with you what I did manage to do.
I worked on those scarves for my Secret Santa gig. I actually might finish one more than I had planned.
I also managed a bit of cross stitching.
The angel is slowly taking shape.
More tomorrow after I pick even more raspberries.

That is so wonderful that both of your boys could visit you at the same time! They are very sweet to help you out around the house too. Your cross stitch angel is beautiful! Please be careful with your back. I know how it is once it starts hurting you then it seems the pain returns more easily again. Take care!

ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been very productive. How nice to have lovely sons who come and help you out when they stay. OH tries to do the same for his parents when he visits.
ReplyDeleteThose darned aches and pains that come about from overextending ourselves are such a nuisance. They get in the way of progress. Your angel is so pretty and the scarves are going to well appreciated. I haven't done rug hooking in years. Are you just using up scrap yarn?

I'm glad you had such a wonderful time with your boys, Jackie. They look like such fine upstanding men. I think it's great that they help out their parents as they do.
