Ouch, Clumsy Jackie

Yep, today I took a massive tumble when leaving the bank. Because of my osteoporosis we took a quick trip to the hospital. My wait time really wasn't that long, just a bit less than two hours. I am just glad it was early enough that no one saw it happen.

Nothing broken according to the x-rays, just some deep tissue damage. Man this actually hurts worse than my two wrist breaks, and I can do about as much work as when that happened. To make matters worse it is my right arm and I happen to be right handed. Not able to use the left hand and arm as well as the right.

This means things I wanted to get done today haven't been done, and that working on the binding of the firepit quilt was shockingly hard. I wanted to get the garden weeded, but that may just have to wait, or I will just do a so-so job of it tomorrow.

I hope it starts to feel better soon as I have lots that need to be done. However cleaning out the fridge of items that need using up can still be accomplished, and some easily done extra cleaning in the sewing/craft room as well.

I will try a bit of knitting tonight and hopefully get the second mitt of the pair done. Perhaps if it isn't too bad I can get a bit of the next pair started as well.

It does mean I will need to take a shower instead of my usual bath tonight as I need both arms to lift myself out of the tub. This is going to be interesting to say the least as I usually get water all over when I take a shower.

It also meant a slight change in supper plans, nothing drastic but I am hopeful it will turn out okay. The potatoes will be mashed and fried with some onion (need to use that up) and then I will add the leftover pork roast.

Anyway, off to get supper made and then cleared up.

Everybody have a wonderful evening. I will try and visit, but don't know how much I will comment. Typing with one hand isn't fun.

God bless.

Mid Week Once Again

Lots of clouds today, mostly passing to the north of us but I am thinking that it is so muggy out a storm is going to hit, at some point. I just hope no hail is involved.

Made a stupid move this morning. I finished most of the household tasks and then decided that I should input some information on a few spread sheet. As I finished the computer work and stood up my back was a bit tight so I stretched. Must have stretched a bit wrong and I heard a crack and was in severe pain almost immediately. I thought I had dislocated a rib and that rib was pressing on my lungs. I could not breathe at all well. Almost went and woke up Harvey to take me to the ER, but gingerly walked about the house a bit and the pain dissipated somewhat.

However I have been taking things a bit easier, resting well between tasks (most of which had been done before my stupidity) and using a heating pad and ice pack regularly

Good thing I put off shopping for awhile (at least until tomorrow). Hopefully I can find a comfortable position to sleep in.

I did do some sewing today and finished another top. Mom would have called these last two tops "pop tops" as you just pop them on. She made many of these for my sister and I to wear in the summer. I am not as good as she was and need a pattern in order to make mine.

Down to two more tops to sew and then I can start on Harvey's robe. Perhaps I will be lucky enough to actually finish this mass of sewing projects this month.

Must slowly make supper. Will visit you all later.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

It has been a very quiet weekend all told. I think we are beginning to move into the nesting phase or perhaps hibernation.

I really did not get much done the last couple of days on my projects. Most was completed at the beginning of the week. Now that the back is feeling much better, I started to work a bit harder at the cutting table. Perhaps not the best idea to work for 3 or 4 hours straight doing the same thing over and over,

For the first time ever, this happened.

I have never cut myself with my rotary cutter, but I guess there is always a first time. I haven't even looked to see how bad it is, just quickly threw on some band aids and hoped for the best. I see by the picture that there has been some bleeding through.... I still hopeful that I can get the remaining fabric cut into those strips and the sashing cut for the quilt. I had planned on cutting out a pattern, but that will need to wait until tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and I managed to cut myself with a knife as well. Guess that today was not a great day for me to be using sharp items.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.
