Harvest and Flowers

This is a picture of my impatients in one corner of the deck. This was taken a few weeks ago and now you can not even see the pots!!.

I have started the harvest of the produce from the garden. After I get this bucket of green beans frozen, I can safely say those are done. We still have yellow beans though.

Just a start on those yellow beans. I have at least double that to pick over the next few days.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Retirement and Computer Problems

No pictures today, just a post. It seems my 7 or 8 year old computer has decided it needs to retire as much as I do. Since we got home from holidays it has been acting up and late last night it finally gave out. Harvey and I are are hoping that we can get the information from this hard drive onto another, but for some reason I have a bad feeling about that. Guess we will be spending a few extra hours a week redoing much of the work. You would think that after the last time this happened I would have made hard copies of all the important stuff.....

I sent in my letter of resignation at the beginning of the week. So come fall I will be a stay at home wife. Just think of all the crafts and things I can do now. I am looking forward to being able to do what I love and to travel when the urge overtakes us and perhaps even blogging a bit more than I have been over the past few years.

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

God bless.

Vacation

We had a wonderful vacation up at Jan Lake Saskatchewan. Thought I would share some pictures of the cabin with all of you. Here is Harvey resting after a days fishing on the front deck

This is a picture of the front of the cabin. Pretty spacious for the two of us.

And beautiful sunsets to see us to bed each and every night.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Little Bit Of This And A Little Bit Of That

Well it has been awhile since I did any blogging. Getting used to this retirement thing is taking awhile. Now I am on holidays and Harvey and I are around eachother 24/7.

I am spending my time trying to use up some of my yarn stash and get the sewing/craft room cleaned up at the same time. These are some of the scarves I made with some of the stash. I fell in love with Sashay yarn and the lovely scarves it made.

I have also made some rhubarb strawberry jam and gotten a few packages of rhubarb into the freezer for use later.

The garden is growing well and I plan on posting some pictures very soon.

Everybody have a wonderful evening. God bless.

Final Count Down

Well by the end of Monday, Harvey will be home for good.

Today he went and cleaned out his office, and tomorrow we will take his truck to the office to be turned in. He is buying another truck but the paper work and transfer of ownership is going to take awhile. He will be dropping me off at work on Monday and picking me up after work. I am supposed to go to a meeting at 4, but I am going to miss it. I am not really needed as my job of getting a budget together and finding a caterer are done. Just need to sit back now and get numbers for the supper.

Harvey has spent much of today trying to set up a budget. Hmmm, I have given him a few more headings to enter, things he has forgotten.

Should be an interesting retirement as for the first time in our married life I am getting an allowance!!!

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Deep Fried Turkey?

Today I will be attending another meal for Harvey. The office staff is having a luncheon. The luncheon is going to be Deep Fried Turkey..... Hope it tastes good.

Eight days, including today until Harvey is retired. Must get a new job jar made for him very, very, soon.

Everybody have a great day.

God bless.

Retirement Looms Closer

I am finding it a bit difficult to navigate around the new blogger site. Hopefully with more use.....

Kurt and Kris came home for Harveys' retirement party on Friday. It was just wonderful having them home together. We started making plans for the summer, and for Christmas this year. I guess we will be heading up to Kurts' place for the holiday. I did tell him that he would need to buy a Christmas tree and ornaments!

Anyway, I digress. There are now 9 days left before Harvey is retired. I think both of us are a bit scared of this next stage of our lives. I know you plan and save for it, but then BAMMM it's right there in front of you. Here is hoping that we can negotiate any rapids in our paths.

Count down will be continuing......

Everybody have a great day.

God bless.
