We had another lovely sunny day here today. I am hoping that this weather continues, but being as it is March winter could just be taking a deep breath before hitting us once again. I will take advantage of this weather as much as is possible.
I have done a bit of furniture moving and tomorrow we will go looking for a cupboard to put beside our hutch in the dining room. Pretty sure we (or at least I) want to use it to store a few of my various small appliances. It should clear off some of the counter as well, giving me more space to work every day.
I finished one of my goals today which makes me happy. It isn't perfect but will work as a blanket around the firepit to keep someone warm on those colder evenings. I am very hopeful of getting a few more of those projects completed.
Decluttered a little bit, not as much as I would have liked, but a bit is better than nothing.
Still using up those items in the fridge freezer that need using up. Grocery shopping will be put off another week, and that means money saved that can be used elsewhere.
Life is different, but not that much different for those of us that live a frugal life. I am trying to move to a simpler life as well. That could take some time as a simple life is much more complicated then one would think. After all trying to grow more veggies, processing them, sewing more, weaving more, and just taking time to smell the roses does take time and a change in how one lives from day to day. The tariffs will take a toll as well, not only on Canada, but on other countries as well. We will just have to learn how to survive, and by doing so get stronger each and every day.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
I love the home-life of growing, fermenting and jarring our own stuff. Great job on the declutter. Sewing sounds good too.
ReplyDeleteI really miss having a cold cellar because I would be doing a whole lot more canning. We use a small fridge to store jars but the space is limited. Also miss having the garden, another drawback I guess to apartment life. Having said that the RC is/was the gardener and he's not able to keep up with it anymore. He grows a few things on the balcony just for the fun of it.
ReplyDeleteBusy gal, as always! I've finished the projects I wanted to get done here at my son's. But I can't leave for my daughter's until my lenses come in at the optometrist's. So, I'm getting to relax, do some stitching, and some light housework. Meanwhile the snow really started to melt yesterday. That makes me very happy!
ReplyDeleteThat's the trouble with small appliances - they may well be convenient and save money, but they do take up a lot of space.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of using something you have to store small appliances. I have very limited counterspace, so try to keep it as clear as possible.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are moving forward!
I store all my small appliances out in the garage in a cupboard as there is no room in the kitchen. It is a pain but keeps things cleaner and neater,
ReplyDeleteI agree that living simply takes time. When we harvest things from the allotment, it takes a quite a bit of time to wash them and preserve some of them ready for to eat. It's work that I quite enjoy though and it's very satisfying to be self sufficient with regard to some foods for a short part of the year.
