Tuesday Tidbits and Stuff

It turned into a lovely sunny and pretty warm day today. A few more days like this and I will be able to wash and hang all the curtains outside.

In fact it was so nice that Harvey did some caulking outside, and moved the furniture around on the deck. I will probably be doing some other moving, but it was a big help. Placement of my large plant pots will take place in a few weeks. Planting will take place about mid May.

Soon enough we will be spending more time enjoying the backyard, or as some across the pond call the area, our garden. There will be more planting and garden building this year as well. We have fruit trees to plant, and I want to set up some raspberry bushes in the front of the house. Any ideas on what veggies or fruits prefer the shade would be appreciated as well. I have a fairly wide area on both sides of our home that need some plantings.

I am leaving off the spring cleaning for a while and turn to getting ready for Easter. Baking needs to be done, and a few areas just kind of picked up a bit so that our grandcat Eiko has space to play.

Working on another quilt top as there were soooo many squares left. This is just kind of a fence rail type so it isn't going to take long at all to put together. I should with any luck be finished it by Thursday afternoon. I will then start to work on the jacket so as the table is cleared off and I can cut out my nightgown to sew for next winter.

Our hospital had an ad online that gave people a number to call if they were searching for a doctor.... I phoned and am now matched with a physician. The lovely lady said to wait a few days so the paperwork would be put through and then make an appointment. I feel so much better knowing I have a doctor once again. My old doctor can still only take male patients, though he can fulfill scripts via phone call from the pharmacy. I do hope I like this doctor, but I suppose considering our shortage of physicians I will make do.

Off to visit you all now.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. What a relief that you have a doctor! There are so many fewer general practitioners these days and it's not easy to find one accepting new patients.

I am really chomping at the bit to get further in our garden. Spring is coming in very slowly over here.

  2. That's quite worrying that you didn't have a doctor for consultations. It must be a relief to finally be on the books of a doctor you can actually visit when necessary.

  3. Agree with the peace of mind of having a doctor. We are feeling more confident with our switch to Kaiser in California as now everything including a hospital and ER are close by. Like you we decided the primary care doctor only had to be competent and responsive.

  4. I have a doctor in the city, who I dislike. It's unlikely I'll find a doctor here in town so I'm stuck for the time being. Glad you were able to find a new doc.
I think it is sweet that you make space for Eiko.

  5. Sounds busy at your house. Great plans for the yard this year.

  6. You sound like a happy springtime person in your post!

  7. Shortage of doctors seems worldwide. I have a lovely doctor but generally there is a three week wait for an ordinary appointment. I guess if it was an emergency they would see you much sooner

  8. So glad that you were lucky and found a new doctor. So many people can't or are stuck with one that's incompetent and can't make a change. Maybe the numbers of doctors and nurses will rise if enough people bail out of the US and decide to come here.
