Sunday Ramblings
I did not sleep well last night. Mainly because as I went to get into bed with my book I saw one of these lovely insects crawling up the side of the bedding.
Yep that's right a lovely, overly friendly wood tick.
If there is one insect I absolutely abhor its this one (after bees and wasps). The thought of one of them crawling on me, perhaps even digging in to suck my blood gives me the heebie jeebies. So all night I felt thousands of them crawling all over me!!!! Needless to say this was the only one and my body was left in peace, just wish my sleep had been as well.
Today I learned the Father Juanito is leaving us. We are getting a priest that was here once before as a newbie. Father Brian and I worked together when I was Youth Coordinator for the parish. In fact he was one of two priests that hired me. I am very sorry to see Father Juanito leave especially as we have a high percentage of our congregation that is Philippino/Philippina. They will really miss him.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Saturday Goings
Today our oldest Kurt left for Regina. He will be staying with some friends for a few days and then boarding a plane for a 2 week trip to Cuba. Hopefully he will have a great time and see lots of new and interesting things to him.
I have been working on my cross stitch angel for 2 or 3 hours each afternoon for the last week and a half.
This is what it looked like when I first started working on her again.
This is what I have accomplished over the past week and a half.
Not much of a difference, but slowly but surely it will be completed. I had hoped to finish this by the end of the month, but I don't think that will happen. I will however give it my best shot.
I plan on getting a few other simple new projects done this month as I work on this. I always need to have something in my hands to keep them occupied.

Thursday Tidbits
Thought I would post a few pictures of our reunion tonight.
This is a picture of Garry, Wylie, Chantel, and Ethan.
This is Harvey's brother Bradley, then comes Connor, and Garry again. Melanie is walking towards me.
Here is Harvey with two of his brothers, Vernon and Bradley and one of the sisters Kathy. This was a bit of a get together at Kathy and Davids place on the Friday night.
This is another brother Loran and his soon to be wife (we hope soon anyways) Wendy.
Rodney and his little girl Vayda.
David, Sharri, the twins, and Gordon, Harveys other sister Janice's significant other.
More pictures coming soon. I think I have bored you all enough for tonight.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Excitment In And Around the Phillips' Homestead
This morning was a series of exciting happenings. None of them good, but learning experiences for both Harvey and I.
I had just finished brushing my teeth, was spitting (I know kind of too much information but important to the story) and rinsing off my toothbrush. I had the hot water tap in my hand and was getting ready to shut it off. To my surprise the tap came off in my hand as I turned it.
This picture pretty much sums up what happened (without the guy on one knee proposing). Water was gushing out of the top of the now empty pipe and raining all over the bathroom!!! I madly stuck the tap back into the hole and proceeded to open the bottom of the vanity reaching with one hand to try and find a water turn off valve. Hmmm, we don't have one.
I was madly trying to sweep the water into the sink and down the drain while trying to get the bathroom door open to scream (yes that's right scream) for Harvey. All the time wondering if I would manage to wake him up with my yelling (the man sleeps like the dead sometimes).
To my surprise as I flung open the door, Harvey was standing beside the coffee pot. I told him to shut off the water. I guess the shooting water and my directions did not paint a good enough picture as he came in the bathroom to help me turn off the tap.
Finally I managed to get through to him (still madly trying to sweep the water that was building up into the sink and down the drain) and he raced off downstairs to shut off the water main.
A good portion of the next hour was spent cleaning up the flood while Harvey had his morning coffee and planned out how he was going to repair the tap. Turned out we needed to buy a whole new tap set. Three hours later (the old set was so corroded that it was hard to remove) we have new taps in the bathroom.
I went out a bit later and cut some lettuce and the rhubarb. While out I noticed some flashing lights. Never thought anything of it until I started to throw the rhubarb leaves out in the garbage bin in the alley. As I turned to come back into the house a voice called to me.
The gentleman who is building the large duplex (the one that will kind of invade my backyard privacy) was calling me.
It seems that someone or more than just one someone had tried to set fire to the building!! The police and fire chief asked me questions as well.... I can't believe that I had never seen or heard anything. I am keeping my eyes open for anything strange as I was asked. Right now they figure it was a group of teenagers causing trouble. I am just glad the whole building did not go up. Oh by the way the picture is one I found on the internet not the real deal.
I hope that tomorrow is a little more laid back.....

Home Sweet Home
Back home now from the family reunion. Just checking in to let everyone know I survived. I have started the glass is half full type of thing and am really trying to get along with all of Harv's family. I will fill you all in on how things went either tomorrow or Wednesday.
I know this is usually my Menu posting night, but I still have to work on the monthly menu for this month. More about that tomorrow as well.
Happy Canada Day to all Canadians out in blogland.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
