Another week is zipping by.
So what frugal things have I been up to this week.
1. Windows open most nights and the last couple of days kept open. Love not using the air conditioner.
2. Used up all the leftovers in the fridge from when Kris was down visiting. Now I have added a few but those will be easier to use up.
3. Walked most mornings as it has been cool out and much easier to move along quickly.
4. As usual I made all meals here at home using what was on hand.
5. Harvested the garden and processed it for the freezer.
6. Using up some of the finer yarns (think baby type yarn) to make a couple of shawls.
7. Stuck to my list when shopping for the next 2 weeks.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
Sticking to a grocery shopping list is an accomplishment! I'm noticing the need to make substitutions and pick up items on "sale" here to have a full pantry and freezer.
ReplyDeleteIt cooled off dramatically last night to 2C here, though I note the forecast suggests we'll be back into the high 20's tomorrow at least. Definitely crazy fall weather.
ReplyDeleteNice work! Our garden is largely over, thanks to the excessive heat the last week (108+). Yuck. We also had to use our AC a lot as well, which is always sad. We had mandatory power reduction, so at least that was cut back, although not by design.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie,
ReplyDelete...we're still looking forward to nights cool enough to open the windows...and still trying to use up all that food that we bought during the pandemic...
~Have a lovely day!
Lucky you, getting to turn the ac off for a bit. I love that and am looking forward to it being cooler here too. Sounds like a good and frugal week for you. 😊
ReplyDeleteIt seems like our little balcony garden is showing signs of giving up but at least it's kept us in lettuce and tomatoes pretty much all summer. Herbs too. Resident Chef has put lots of herbs in the freezer ready for soups and stews over the winter. Only had to use the a/c a couple of days all summer which was a surprise. Thank goodness for fans though.
