We attended Mass today for the first time in what seems ages. I think we should change the time we attend as Father kept us for almost 1 1/2 hours. Way too long to listen to him talk about money, and how much more we need as a parish. Not the best way to encourage people to give more.
Then we went out for brunch and the place was packed. I will definitely be testing in a couple of days.
Since we had a rather large brunch neither of us was very hungry for supper. This means my moussaka plan has been changed to tomorrow. I had a few leftovers, and Harvey had an orange and some crackers. Now I just have to rinse things out and put them in the dishwasher.
I did head out to the garden and picked more tomatoes, and get rid of a plant that was dead. I just couldn't keep it watered enough.
Other than that I finished a small shawl, and cast on for another worsted weight knit blanket. I also did up the to do lists for next week.
All in all another rather lazy day on my part.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
It sounds like you had a very restful day Jackie. Have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat does seem rather a long service.
ReplyDelete'Testing' , you mean testing for covid? If you wear the mask, chances are you'll test negative.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice way to spend the day, other than the long winded speech by the Father. I hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYour lazy days are incredibly busy and productive! Sounds like a nice day.
ReplyDeleteYour idea of lazy and mine are quite different. I spent the day, mostly on the couch, watching curling and baseball.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you avoided Covid.
I know all church's are struggling right now especially after covid and then with high prices donations are down. I bet Father is worried.
ReplyDeleteI would have a hard time with that long of a sermon. I think I'm at that age where I get tired when I sit for an hour or so, and listen...I start dozing off. lol
ReplyDeleteI suppose churches have really suffered during the pandemic and are in need of money. It's not what you go to church to hear about though.
ReplyDeleteAs for packed restaurants - not my idea of where I want to be. Most of them have their tables and aisles too close together too so I'm not comfortable with that either. Needless to say, not many trips to eat out for us.
Churches talk about money too much, it really is a turn off. 1.5 hours is indeed too long. Good luck with the testing after being in a crowded restaruant. We've tried to only go where there's outside dining; but have gone inside a few times. But, despite all my care I curently have Covid. Hubby as well. We have no idea how or where we got it. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteSundays should be nice... yes... you can also work the other six days... with joy.
ReplyDeleteBut a sermon shouldn't be tiring...
Greetings to you in Canada from Viola
Hi Jackie, I realized I hadn't seen a post for a few days and thought I'd check in. I hope everything is well with you and Harvey. Take care!
