I was feeling a bit ill yesterday and so did not do as much as I had hoped. Instead, I rested most of the day and worked on the rug. Turned out I already needed to cut strips of the knit fabric to use in the stripes. In fact, the green that I am now working on is a mixture of different shades of green. Had to cut more of that as well, hence the different shades. Here is a picture of the rug (will try to post one picture a week on my progress.
I also made our appointments for our next Covid19 booster. It is Monday at 12:20 pm and at 12:30 pm. I will be making our flu shot appointment nearer the end of the week. All set for awhile except Harvey will have to make a doctor's appointment sometime in December to get his prescriptions refilled, and I will be making an appointment for my annual physical in January as well as my appointment with my specialist in February. It really does seem like everything happens at once.
Today I processed 5 small pumpkins. Ten more packages of pumpkin puree are now residing in the freezer. Only another ten or so to get processed.
I also spent some time working on the monthly menu. I have lots of bags of leftover roasts, chicken and turkey residing in the fridge freezer as well as a few other items. Time to use those up before things get out of hand. Soup making will happen on Wednesday, getting the chicken carcasses out and made into stock will clean even more room out. I should also do the turkey carcass but that can wait for a day or two after.
Grocery list is made, and I will be out shopping on Tuesday. Hopefully it will be a very quick shopping trip. I was asked about the cost of pork here. In some cases, and cuts of pork it is actually a bit more expensive than beef. If I am careful and buy when things are on sale, the savings can be pretty good. Though meat sales are few and far between. This week there is a sale on a certain kind of beef roast and that will be going in the cart.
Today is Kris's birthday. It is hard to believe that my baby is 41 years old already. We had a nice birthday chat and I explained how to make creamed potatoes to him.
Tomorrow, I get to phone Kurt and wish him a Happy Birthday. He turns 46. Where have all the years gone?
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Your rug is looking beautiful Jackie. I hope you are feeling better soon. Your sons are similar ages to mine. xx
ReplyDeleteBirthdays a day apart - that's pretty cool! Our boys are a week apart and our youngest two grandies are both on the same day.
ReplyDeleteWaiting to hear from the drugstore about availability of flu shots - we're on the list for them to notify but if it's like last year we won't hear anything from them. I'll have to check when I'm in the next time to see if they have them.
