One has to love a polar vortex as far as staying home and working on getting the leftovers all eaten. That is pretty much all we have been doing. Along with working on projects.
I have kept in contact with various people by phone and social media. Our restrictions have been extended for another month so it looks like masking and hand sanitizing will be a part of our future plans.
Since it has been so cold, but sunny most days the curtains are opened during the day to let in the light and then closed as soon as it starts getting dark to keep the heat in.
I was going to use up as many of the ready meals from the freezer as possible, but I got notification today that my surgery will take place on the 26th of this month providing Covid-19 patients don't make a surge. We will now need those ready meals for my recovery period so that means going over my menus yet again. No biggy, there is lots of food in the freezer.
I have not been shopping for almost 2 weeks for anything and now have a good idea that I could make this a regular thing. Just have to make sure I have enough milk to see us through. Saved us some cash as well by doing this. I am hoping to go shopping tomorrow and getting enough to see us through at least the first week I am home from the hospital.
I fixed a sweater, and turned a collar on one of Harvey's shirts as well as did some sock and glove darning.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
Here’s hoping your surgery can go forward as planned.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have done some excellent planning in arranging freezer meals for after your surgery. I really admire how organized you are with everything!
ReplyDeleteGood news about the date of your operation. It must be a relief to finally get a date.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you've got a date for your surgery, I'll keep my fingers crossed it all goes well.
ReplyDeleteSince I've gone down to the fridge freezer only, I can manage about 10 days without needing to shop. Though I must admit I generally shop every week. I don't miss the larger freezer though as I kept too much in there and we didn't use it all quickly enough. Most of all I appreciate that my power bill has dropped by nearly $20 a month since I quit using it.
Take care, stay well!
So happy you have your date set. I turn Hubs collars also, most people think I am nuts, but it gives it another few years of wear.
ReplyDeleteGood news that you have a date for your op at last. Fingers crossed that it goes ahead as planned, Jackie, you seem to be so well organised already. Sending hugs x
ReplyDeleteSo glad you might have your surgery soon. Our covid numbers are slowly going down thankfully (except some really stupid people and those they infect) so hoping yours do too. We got a little winter over the weekend, 3 days worth of snow adding up to 1 foot but it is already melting with above zero temps and rain :)
