Football Anyone

Harvey, Kris and I attended the Regina Roughriders preseason football game on Saturday.

Now, our football here is not like the football across the pond. To me soccer is more like football cause you only use your feet, so our type of football is very strange to some people. Kind of a cross between soccer and rugby with some extras thrown in.

We were situated right at the top of the stadium, which is not the best place for someone who is terrified of heights but once I stopped hyperventilating I began to enjoy the view.

At each end of the field are giant television screens. They made it much easier for me to follow the plays. The men did not seem to have a problem.

Here is our team, way across the field. Sorry for the blurry picture.

The game went late into the night so we got to take a picture of the sun setting behind the stadium.

The game ended in a tie, which isn't bad considering the preseason is for trying out new players. We tried out 2 new quarterbacks, one of which really impressed Harvey and Kris. Hopefully this bodes well for the team this year.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  2. Jackie,

Was this "American" football or soccer?

  3. Gayle this was "Canadian" football. Pretty much the same as American, but we only have 3 downs, the field is wider and longer.

    God bless.

  4. Our team played a pre-season game like that in May. They divided the team in half and called it blue and orange...they also gave the new quarterbacks a chance to play....And tackling the quarterback wasn't allowed. Don't won't to cause any injuries before the season begins.
We didn't take on of our children to a game until they learned what was happening on the field.
