The end of another week of frugal endeavors. Really not much new in that department around here.
1. I managed a few more no spend days this week and raised my total for the month to 11 no spend days.
2. Baked 2 loaves of bread saving about $1.50 and had the satisfaction of knowing exactly what was in each loaf.
3. Saved $44.45 on groceries this week just buying sale items.
4. Bought 10 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breasts for $2.99 a pound which was the cheapest they have been here in months.
5. Mended my favourite cashmere sweater, I should now get at least another years wear out of it.
6. Used up lots of food leftovers.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
I must admit I have some leftovers that need using up. Thankfully it is mainly salad which can be put to good use as a side dish.
ReplyDeleteLove it when we have leftover salad. Add a bit of protein and it makes a wonderful lunch.

We have curtailed out out to the store visit as well. Trying to go on payday with a list in mind. Not doing to bad with that. Using up what meats I have in the freezer before bringing home more. I've just about got them all done, we are down to chicken, lots of chicken. Pot pies coming up soon.
ReplyDeleteI love pot pies, but Harvey turns up his nose at them. I just might make a few anyway. I have a mini pie maker which is the perfect size.

Well done on you savings, we're trying to eat from the freezer as we seem to have full shelves.. need room for Christmas food!
ReplyDeleteI need to clear out things for Christmas food as well. Hopefully things will start going down very soon.

Your week sounds like my week exactly.
ReplyDeleteI did manage to clean out and reorganize my pantry. You're inspiring me.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has been digging around in my pantry once again, so at some point I will need to straighten it out once more.

Chicken is the most useful meat possible. Not sure about the exchange rate but that sounds a bargain to me.
ReplyDeleteThat would be about 1.73 pounds per pound. LOL that is as difficult to read as it is to write.
