Things have calmed down a bit, or at least I have calmed down. I talked to Kurt again tonight and he is feeling okay. He says he gets very tired easily, and his sense of smell might be off a bit, but other than that and a bit of a cough he is doing well.
I didn't tell you all yesterday, but he was also having a bit of a plumbing problem and needed a plumber to snake out his sewer line as things were backing up a bit. Of course because he had Covid no one would come. The poor guy thought he was going to have to live in filth for 10 or so more days.
Well he was letting another friend know that he had Covid and the conversation morphed to his plumbing problem. His friend managed to get ahold of someone who had one of the big electronic snakes that plumbers use and brought it over to him. This wonderful friend even helped him carry it into the house and down the stairs as Kurt said it probably weighed 300 pounds.
Plumbing fixed, and I have a happy (or at least as happy as possible) son.
He will be doing live streaming of his classes starting tomorrow until he can get back in the classroom, and has friends who are phoning and checking on him often. I can breath once again.
Today I got the tree finished, while watching Christ the King Mass live streamed from the cathedral, and it doesn't look bad at all. Christmas is slowly arriving in our home. Pictures of decorations once I am totally finished will follow. I even have an Advent program to follow online.
My baking/candy making list is hopefully complete and I will start on that right away in December. Things are definitely getting down to the crunch.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
I'm glad to hear that things have settled somewhat. I must say, I'm incredibly impressed with your son. To continue teaching while he's ill shows just how much he cares about his student. It annoys me that so many people say teachers are lazy and overpaid. Kurt proves they are not.
ReplyDeleteTake care and stay well.
I'm so glad your son is holding his own with the virus, Jackie. So scary. I had to contact our insurance agent via email and when she wrote back she told me she is working from home because they think she has the virus. Her test results are due back any time. I wish it would just go AWAY! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear things are going better for your son. I hope any symptoms he has remain mild and go away quickly. Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your son is doing well and that a friend helped with the plumbing problem.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your son is on the mend, it's a real worry as this virus is affecting everyone differently. I hope he continues to gain strength and normality asap.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful friend and glad to hear that Kurt is improving. No tree here as yet but the few presents I am buying are now wrapped and ready to be sent abroad.
ReplyDeleteStay safe
xx
God answers prayers and he certainly took care of your son. I am so glad you are relieved my friend.
ReplyDeleteAll of this must be such a relief for your mother's heart. I'm glad your son is feeling reasonably well—and that someone came to tend to that plumbing problem. I can't imagine having to deal with that on top of being sick.
ReplyDeleteFeeling your anxiety as I was there not long ago! What is it with sons and plumbing? Ours in the middle of his covid had no boiler for heating and water.
