Sadness

Today we were sitting waiting for Mass to begin and the gentleman who always sits behind us tapped me on the shoulder.

When I turned to him he said his daughter had just passed away and he was a bit worried that we still had her on the Prayers of the Faithful for the sick. He wanted to make sure she was on the prayers for the dead.

I asked if he wished me to check for him and when he answered yes I went down to the meeting room to check. C was on the list for those who have died. I went back and told him and his wife that things were under control.

As I sat down Harvey turned to me and said "That is so sad, she was always smiling when she would come to Mass."

C was older and was mentally disabled but was always happy and willing to shake hands with everyone. Both Harvey and I will miss her smiling face at Mass on Sundays, but rest in the knowledge that she is in a far, far, better place than the one she left. Her innocent faith will lead her to the arms of our Lord and Savior and she will be waiting in one of the many rooms prepared for those who go before us.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Jackie,
I'm sorry that you, your husband, her family and the many others' whose lives she has touched are suffering her loss. Some day you will all be together again. Sending warm hugs and prayers for all of you.
