Midweek, Oh My

I think that pretty soon panic is going to set in. I am in no way ready for winter or Christmas and both are coming up very quickly.

Not only is it midweek again, but it is almost the end of this month. Yikes time is just flying right by. Still lots I want to get done this month. Hopefully everything will actually be accomplished. Perhaps even a few of the smaller tasks from next month if I am really lucky.

It seems as if there is never enough hours in a day to get things done and dusted. I believe it is because it stays darker in the mornings and gets dark early at night. Some things just need the light of day in order to get done. I do have a very decent light in the sewing/craft room, but some items are just too large to sew or craft in there. This means I have a large folding table in the living room to work on during the sunny portions of the day.

The weather has changed. It is very cold, below freezing most nights lately and so the heat has been turned on. Still we are keeping that fairly low and I am thinking that perhaps we should use the timer this year a bit more.

I have been working on getting some cleaning done that really hasn't been done in awhile. I have washed all the doll clothes my Mom made for Krista's Cabbage Patch doll, cleaned that tote, washed all the stuffed toys (need to mend her Care Bear) and tomorrow will wash the Cabbage Patch doll. The tote the stuffies were in has been cleaned as well and once the last few stuffed toys are added can be put away.

The yard is cleaned up, flower pots, baskets and such have been emptied and all summer decor is put away or covered up on the deck.

Guess things are moving along for now, but so much more needs to be done to be ready for the dark, cold and snowy days of a Canadian prairie winter.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Time is flying by. I just started getting some little things for Christmas - but have all the kiddos to do and things to still can. It can be overwhelming.

  2. I understand about days moving so fast. Just when you think you're caught up, something comes up. Not looking forward to the dark, cold, snowy days of a UP winter either.

  3. I wish you wouldn't put so much pressure on yourself. You are the most productive person I know, accomplishing so much that you almost make me dizzy. I know I certainly consider myself a sloth in comparison.
    Take care of yourself too.

  4. Well you always have me beat - You always seem to make it work. I’ve not managed my time well lately - spending time doing what I love and that’s research for my study so the house is not as clean as it usually is. I’m going to have to set aside one day and just do it.
Sometimes we place so much on ourselves and we have to give ourselves permission when we just can’t get it all done and then, forgive ourselves. In the big scope of everything, it’s not the end of the world and not worth giving ourselves ulcers!

  5. Yes, Christmas is coming up fast, it will be here before we know it. Mind you, our Christmases are rather relaxed since it will be Summer by then, BBQs and easy entertaining. And caravan trips of course.

  6. I say every year that I am going to get an early start on Christmas but, that never happens. I still have some pots to empty outside and it won't be long before we bring in the upper patio chairs. You have already done so much to prepare for winter. I'm jealous!

  7. You are so right Jackie - the month & the year are flying by so quickly. I find there are never enough hours in the day but I am also slower now so that accounts for some of it! xx

  8. Christmas will be here before we know it for sure. I've canned some apple butter so far and have some other projects in the works, but need to keep on a good schedule to get it all done. I've put more blankets on the bed, but it is not as cold here as it is where you are, Jackie. I hope you all stay safe and toasty warm. :)
