Thrifty and Frugal Thursday

Thrifty and Frugal

So groceries were definitely a bit more expensive this time around, probably because I could not let some sales go by even though the item was not on my list. I also bought a few treats since Kurt and Kris will be home.

That being said there were still some thrifty and frugal happenings here on the old homestead.

1.  Of course I took advantage of the nice weather and hung most clothing on the lines outside.

2.  Saved some elastics and plastic bags from veggie and fruit purchases.

3.  Mended a hem, and saved some bits of thread to use to sew on buttons.

4.  Put $11.35 in my change jars. Probably will find more to add. Hubby added some but never told me what the total was.

5.  Using up all leftovers and items in the fridge in other meals or as lunches.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. We forgot to bring in our comforter that was on the line - sprinklers went on and soaked it. lol. You’d think we’d learn - second time this has happened. 🙀

  2. I have also noticed that groceries have gone up. I hope to have our clothesline up this weekend. It's killing me to hang laundry to dry in the dark basement when there is all that sun and warmth outside now!

  3. Sounds like another good week, Jackie. The weather has been nice here too. I’ve been weeding in the yard since it’s so nice outside.

  4. We use less and less cash, so our change pot does not fill, we also save £2 coins separately, which we use each year when we visit London, that grows quicker.

  5. Sometimes it is hard to say no to those tempting items!

  8. I was trying to think of what frugal thing I had done this week and I guess the fact that I'm making a rag doll for our grandie for Christmas using 'stuff' I have in my stash already could count. I am, however, playing 'stuffing-chicken' and hope there's enough left to finish the doll.

  9. It is always fun to read these posts of yours and compare in my mind with what I try to do too. You have to have little treats too. And I hope you are feeling okay, Jackie.
