Menu Monday

As I sit here waiting for Trick or Treaters (so far, no single child has dropped by) I thought I would get the post completed.

There will actually only be a few days listed. We are going to head up and visit with Kris for a couple of days, so I will be getting a bit of a break.

Monday

Leftover meatballs and egg noodles. Served with coleslaw.

Tuesday

Leftover chicken that I will just warm up. I plan on making the rutabaga and having the last of the carrots with it.

Wednesday

Hot dogs and fries.

Thursday

Soup and sandwiches.

Friday, we head up to Kris's and we will be home on Sunday. I think we will be back in the early afternoon (in time for me to pull sausages out of the freezer to make for supper). Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is decent and we can still travel.

I have been working my way through the various leftovers in the fridge freezer and will keep on doing so.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

It has been a busy few days here on the old homestead. My oven decided to take a vacation and so things got a bit hectic. Yesterday was mostly spent trying to get it running once again. I am happy to say that today it is working very well.

I did do some sewing and knitting, as well as some work on the rug this week. Pictures will be posted on Tuesday.

Right now, I feel so far behind in Christmas readiness that I will never get caught up. I have decided that each day I will sew for an hour or so and perhaps that way I will feel I am making progress towards getting Christmas gifts done.

Other than working on projects, fixing the oven, getting my Bible study done, and cleaning the house nothing extra has been done.

I am looking forward to Halloween tomorrow. I just love seeing the costumes the little ones are wearing. Must remember to change the motion light to a regular one before dark.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Frugal Friday

What used to be the end of my work week (well for money) and now just another day in my life.

So, what frugal things have I been up to this week. Not too much new I am afraid to say. I am sure you are all getting bored reading the same things over and over. I have found a couple of new things though.

1.  I have found since our Shelter It is up I no longer have to start the vehicle and let it run to get the frost off the windshield. Saving gas for sure.

2.  My oven seems to have decided to take a vacation this week, so I have been using various appliances to cook our meals. I hope to save a bit on electrical costs.... Harvey figures he can fix the oven so I will let him give that a try.

3.  Processed some more of the pumpkins. Three more bags of puree in the freezer. Only a few more left, but I am afraid the bigger ones will not fit into my toaster oven so those could be a slight problem.

4.  Free water and snacks at the last Bible study. I bring the water home if not totally finished and will use it in my iron or steam mop. Sometimes I use it to clean my oven.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Thrifty Thursday

I think I will answer a question first.

I belong to Neilson HomeScan (has a new name now but I can never remember it) and each week send a scan of my purchases into them. I get points for each scan I send, and if I send 4 scans in a row, I get extra points. The points can be used to purchase gift cards, or items in their catalogue and believe me they have lots to choose from. It takes a bit of time, but over the years I have gotten gift cards for downloading books to my ereader, a Garmin watch (to count my steps), a Pandora bracelet, beads to put on the bracelet, and other such things. They also have surveys every so often for extra points.

I also was asked about my rug... I will take a picture of the progress tomorrow to show you all. However, for now, I will just say I use a rug hooking back that I sewed and edging on and am tying strips of knit fabric on it. The strips are 1/2" wide and 5" long.

Now on to thrifty past times this week.

I sat last night knitting and while knitting tried to remember the last time I purchased fuel for my vehicle. Finally, it dawned on me that I had not purchased any since the beginning of September. Only using the vehicle at the most 2 times a week and combining errands is working nicely. Today right after Bible study I will go and get our allowances (a couple of days early) as I need to pass the bank on the way home.

Using up the bits and bobs of fabric still. Hoping to cut out a couple of dresses made with knit fabric and use the smaller bits as strips on the rug.

Organizing the sewing/craft room by using items that are around the house. You know, shopping at home first. Since I pulled some fabric, I have room in a couple of drawers to add fabric that is put in the closet. Thus, cleaning out another area.

Cut up some old clothing that was not suitable for donation or refashioning into useable quilting squares.

Darned a pair of socks.

Repaired a seam on my winter coat.

Cut worn cuffs off one of Harvey's shirts and will make it into a short-sleeved shirt.

Processed two pumpkins and some tomatoes for the freezer.

That is about all I can remember.

Everybody have a wonderful day.

God bless.

Tuesday Tidbits

Nothing much happening around here. Cutting strips, tying strips, knitting in the evenings. Things are moving along slowly, but at least they are moving.

I went to Walmart this morning, and I am now wondering how on earth we will manage to stay within budget. Prices look to have risen once again. I did manage to pick up my supplements on sale, as well as some coffee. Found some inexpensive salt, and mayo was on sale as well. Still there were lots of items that we could not do without, so they were purchased with an eye to stretching them as far as possible. Still this shop was quite depressing when compared to the one at the grocery last week.

I have been trying to get more room on my kitchen counters and asked Harvey to make me a shelf for under the cupboard. I wanted to put my Google Nest and bar code scanner on it. He made it a bit larger than I expected and I believe that I have managed to get a few other items off the countertop and up. Created more room in front and since Hubby put the espresso machine away, there seems to be more room yet.

He was very frugal or thrifty and made it with items already in his workroom.

I will probably tweak the set up a little, but so far it gave me room to make a salad without moving things around too much. Now perhaps I could talk him into making something similar for the sewing/craft room....

Now for the question...Is blogger acting strange for anyone else today?

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Menu Monday and a Question

Another week of using up all that I can and stretching what I can as well. Still working on clearing out the fridge freezer a little bit. I am hopeful to accomplish this by the end of next week.

Monday

Clearing out two small steaks from the freezer. I am making a steak casserole. Serving it with mixed veggies and fried leftover potatoes (with a bit of fried onion mixed in).

Tuesday

Leftover ham which I will just warm up this time (any leftover will be used for sandwiches for a couple of days). I think I will make some kind of pasta and also some peas.

Wednesday

Eggplant Parma from the freezer downstairs.

Thursday

Meatballs in mushroom sauce, served with noodles and probably corn. Leftovers will be frozen and used next week.

Friday

Soup and sandwiches. I have a couple of cans of soup that need to be used. I will probably make grilled cheese sandwiches.

Saturday

There are 3 hamburger patties that need to be out of the fridge freezer. Serving those with baked beans. Need to think what else, perhaps sliced tomatoes.

Today I made a Dutch Apple pie which should give us dessert for a few days. I have some pumpkins sitting in front of the window and if they get ripe enough, I may try my hand at a pumpkin cake to see us through the remainder of the week. Though pumpkin muffins sound pretty good as well.

Now for the question.

I was asked if I was using wool strips for the rug. I am using knit fabric as it is easier for me to work with right now. It is also helping me get all those knit fabric scraps used up (I even need more so will be cutting out some tops and a dress to add to the mix). I still think that I may have to purchase a few half meters of different colours (like black, blue, red, brown, white and solid navy). It is taking way more than I thought it would.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

It has been a very overcast day here. No snow as of yet in this area, but I thought I would share the picture of the snow just before noon in Regina. Kris decided to send me a photo.

This is out his front window. Not looking forward to this hitting here at some point tonight. Heavy and wet snow is no fun to shovel or get rid of. Hopefully it warms up and all melts and leaves the roads dry once again.

Since the weather was rather miserable, my walks today were very short. I did however bake bread, process the pumpkins I had upstairs (brought two more up to see if they will ripen any quicker), make my Christmas card list, and did a few more questions in the Bible study. I am not too sure about this study; it is pretty deep, and I don't think that many of the participants really understand what is being discussed. I could be wrong, but I do see confused expressions on faces. Father's rambling answers to questions don't help. In fact, there was one answer that really did not address the question at all.

I spent most of the afternoon while watching House of the Dragon and working on the rug. Got another stripe done and now am cutting more strips to be used on the next stripe. I hope to do some knitting as well.

Pretty sure tomorrow is not going to be nice, so I will be staying close to home getting those daily tasks done and redoing the menu to use up a bit more from the fridge freezer. Things are slowly going down in there, but there is still lots to work our way through. It will sure save on groceries this month and make me work on figuring out new recipes to make things interesting.

Harvey is busy making me a small shelf to fit on my kitchen countertop. That will hopefully give me a bit more room for rolling out dough or mixing cakes.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Saturday Roundup

Wow, Saturday already and I have nothing completed to show for the week. Made good starts on things, completed the Bible study homework before the meeting, baked bread and managed to blanch and freeze two more bags of tomatoes. I also cut four scraps of various knit fabrics into what I need to use on the rug. Realizing that I need much more, and I am not too sure where I will get what I need.

I have pulled out the patterns and fabric for the robe, pj bottoms, and even a couple of sweater knit tops. It seems like I am short winter dress tops and winter sweaters. Guess once Christmas is done, I will get the needles working on some warm clothing for me.

Shopping was done, and while I dreaded what the total would be, I was actually pleasantly surprised that it wasn't much higher. Still having a well-stocked pantry and freezer enables me to just hit the sale items. There are warnings going out on various news sites that we have not seen the end to rising prices. Now that is scary, I so worry about those that can't manage and are living pay cheque to pay cheque.

I have two small pumpkins that should be ripe enough to process tomorrow. More homegrown goodness in the freezer.

Menus are being switched around to use up leftovers, and plans are in the works for more appliance cooking. If costs of electric and gas go up, I do want to do everything I can to keep those costs as low as humanly possible. Cutting costs where we can is just smart economics.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Frugal Friday

I missed Thrifty Thursday but had a wonderful visit with my sister and her husband. It was Joannes birthday so after a meal we came back to the house and had cake and coffee. Haven't had a good long visit in a while.

So, I will just do a Frugal Friday post.

1.  Downloaded some free books for the ereader (need to download a few more at some point tonight).

2.  I have been taking my daily walks once again. However, according to the weather pundits we are going to be getting snow on Monday, with rain before. Could be a bit too icy for walking.

3.  Combined errands to save on gas. I haven't bought gas for the vehicle in over a month.

4.  Baked bread and made a pudding pie for dessert.

5.  Hanging as many clothes as I can on the lines downstairs.

6.  Cutting up the scraps of knit fabric to work on the rug.

7.  Using up lots of the leftover meat and items from the fridge to fashion new meals.

8.  Trying my best to only purchase sale items when shopping.

9.  Got the cheque from my dental visit and worked out how much I had to co-pay. Got more back than I expected.

10.  Put $50.00 in the envelope and another $5.65 in the change jars. Hopefully I will add more to the envelope at the end of the month.

11.  Found $0.15 on my daily walk which I added to the change jars.

12.  Processed 5 pumpkins.

That's about all I can think of right now.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

MidWeek

My arm feels much better today, though it is still very tender to the touch, and does hurt when I lift it much beyond my shoulder. Things are improving however, so I am happy about that. I also managed a few more hours of sleep last night with the help of Tylenol.

Today, Harvey and I have been working on getting the yard ready for winter. We will probably do more on Friday as tomorrow I have the Bible study to lead. Really all that is left is covering the outdoor furniture, moving the furniture to the far side of the deck, putting the yard ornaments away, and perhaps cutting back some of the perennials. Though those could be left until spring.

I finished the stripe on the rug and now (well tomorrow) will be cutting more fabric to make more strips. I have also almost finished the first ball of yarn I am using to make Kurt's friend a knitted blanket.

Soup is bubbling on the stove, and I used up the last of the turkey stock from the freezer (can now put the new containers in with a clear heart), the veggies I saved a spoon here and there from suppers, and the last bit of gravy (I use it to add more taste). Eggs are boiled for egg salad sandwiches and bread baked as well.

Now I am tiring out and will probably get in the tub for a nice soak and head to bed not long after supper is done.

All in all a very good day with lovely sun and warmish temperatures (the breeze does make it feel a bit cooler).

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

P.S.

My crafting corner beside my chair is once again getting out of control. I will need to buckle down and get things completed in order to get the tower down a bit.

Tuesday Tidbits

Got our booster shots yesterday and of course yours truly managed to get almost every side effect one can possibly get.

I am heading to bed right after this post and a cup of hot lemon tea. I only got around three hours of sleep due to the arm pain. Now I still have arm pain (Tylenol helps with that) but have developed a headache, chills and ringing in my ears.

I promise to visit you all tomorrow. Right now, I think bed is probably the best place for me to be. I will be better tomorrow, or at least if I am not, I won't complain about it.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Menu Monday

Another week of menus, which have been changed up as I need to clean out the fridge freezer this week.

Also, I got my Moderna Bi-valent vaccine today and my arm is already sore. Can't lift it much past my shoulder. Easy to prepare meals will definitely be on my menu this week.

Monday

Pork roast, roasted potatoes and roasted carrots.

Tuesday

Leftover Beef Roast made into Hot beef sandwiches. Serving this with peas.

Wednesday

Soup and sandwiches. I will be using up the last container of stock in the fridge freezer. Need to bring up a couple more from the chest freezer downstairs. This will also use up the container of leftover veggies I have been saving.

Thursday

Leftover pork roast made into a stir fry (cheating and purchasing the veggies already sliced). Serving it with rice. Probably some leftover so I will package this up to use later.

Friday

Tuna patties, and leftover rice as well as mixed veggies.

Saturday

Pulling out the two steaks left and serving them with baked potatoes and corn.

Sunday

Ham, scalloped potatoes, and green beans.

Baking a cake to have for desserts this week.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

I was feeling a bit ill yesterday and so did not do as much as I had hoped. Instead, I rested most of the day and worked on the rug. Turned out I already needed to cut strips of the knit fabric to use in the stripes. In fact, the green that I am now working on is a mixture of different shades of green. Had to cut more of that as well, hence the different shades. Here is a picture of the rug (will try to post one picture a week on my progress.

This is going to take a while.

I also made our appointments for our next Covid19 booster. It is Monday at 12:20 pm and at 12:30 pm. I will be making our flu shot appointment nearer the end of the week. All set for awhile except Harvey will have to make a doctor's appointment sometime in December to get his prescriptions refilled, and I will be making an appointment for my annual physical in January as well as my appointment with my specialist in February. It really does seem like everything happens at once.

Today I processed 5 small pumpkins. Ten more packages of pumpkin puree are now residing in the freezer. Only another ten or so to get processed.

I also spent some time working on the monthly menu. I have lots of bags of leftover roasts, chicken and turkey residing in the fridge freezer as well as a few other items. Time to use those up before things get out of hand. Soup making will happen on Wednesday, getting the chicken carcasses out and made into stock will clean even more room out. I should also do the turkey carcass but that can wait for a day or two after.

Grocery list is made, and I will be out shopping on Tuesday. Hopefully it will be a very quick shopping trip. I was asked about the cost of pork here. In some cases, and cuts of pork it is actually a bit more expensive than beef. If I am careful and buy when things are on sale, the savings can be pretty good. Though meat sales are few and far between. This week there is a sale on a certain kind of beef roast and that will be going in the cart.

Today is Kris's birthday. It is hard to believe that my baby is 41 years old already. We had a nice birthday chat and I explained how to make creamed potatoes to him.

Tomorrow, I get to phone Kurt and wish him a Happy Birthday. He turns 46. Where have all the years gone?

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Frugal Friday

Another Friday has come around. As I have said before the days are just whizzing by and sometimes, I lose track of what day it is. Perhaps I am losing my mind, or at least some of my cognitive abilities. Not that it runs in my family on either side, but perhaps I need to do more to keep my mind active and engaged.

So, what frugal things have I been up to this week.

1.  We didn't turn on the heat until Tuesday. I would have liked to go a bit longer, but I am happy with how long we managed without it.

2.  Drapes are open on these lovely fall days in order to let in the sun's light and for solar heating.

3.  Hung clothes on the line on Monday, and if the weather hangs in I may be able to get another week's laundry line dried as well.

4.  Made Harvey and my Covid booster scheduled for Monday at around noon. All done online.

5.  Paid our bills online.

6.  Gathered the items needed to work on Christmas gifts.

7.  As I was getting short on reading material, I downloaded some free books onto my ereader.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Thrifty Thursday

I have a few thrifty practices to share with you today.

I combined errands so as to save on gas. Our price for gas is at almost an all-time high at $1.80 a liter or around $8.56 a gallon (Canadian and UK gallons). It hasn't been that high in a while so any time I can save a bit, I am going to do so.

Turning the leftover Cabbage bread filling into soup was a great idea. It tasted wonderful and I have two more containers residing in the freezer for meals later on. Especially on those busy nights.

Made more tomato sauce and if the tomatoes ripen even more, I should be able to get at least one more batch done.

Washed the remaining cherry tomatoes and will be using them as snacks and sides for the remainder of the week.

I hope to use up the remaining small cabbage making coleslaw to have with meals for the next few days.

Free snacks and water at the Bible Study today. That will tide me over until supper time.

Fixed a small hole in one of my favourite sweaters.

Worked on projects to use up more items from the sewing/craft room.

I was asked what cabbage bread is so I will try and explain. I make a filling of hamburger, cabbage and onions (salt and pepper to taste) cooked and cooled. I then take bread dough (cheated this time and used some frozen dough) and roll out pieces into squares. A heaping spoonful or two are placed in the center of the bread dough square and then is pinched together well to seal in the filling. The filled "buns" are allowed to rise until doubled in bulk and then baked. Kind of like a German pizza pop. They are very filling.

Everybody have a wonderful day/evening.

God bless.

Tuesday Tidbits

It has been a very strange day. Starting off it was very windy and overcast. Then the rain came, and the wind died down to a gentle breeze.

I headed off to my dental appointment and it was raining. Got there and it had almost stopped. By the time my teeth were cleaned, and I had paid the bill, the rain had stopped completely. Yet when I arrived at home it was coming down buckets once again. The sun came out and we actually had sunny weather for about 3 hours (windy mind you). Now it is dark and cloudy once again and the wind has risen. I hope tomorrow is better, at least sunshine happening.

Today I made more tomato sauce. This time I tried not blanching the tomatoes and when it was all cooked down I whizzed it with my immersion blender, and it looks nice and smooth. Really thick as well. Now another 3 pints are residing in the freezer.

I have also started Kurt's rug.

This could take a bit of time to accomplish. I have also discovered the mesh is much smaller than that which I used to make my rug. Less stiff as well, and by using every hole it is causing a ripple effect on the back. I may have to do every second hole.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Menu Monday

Another week of menus coming up. So far, this month is traveling past very quickly. The days are speeding by. I have managed to stick to my monthly menu with just a few switches. Hopefully this will continue for the rest of the month.

Monday
Soup and sandwiches. I have taken the leftover filling from the Cabbage Bread and turned it into Hamburger soup. Serving it with grilled cheese sandwiches. There will even be enough to freeze for another meal.

Tuesday
Turkey tetrazzini served with leftover salad from our Thanksgiving meal.

Wednesday
Beef short ribs served with rice and peas.

Thursday
Leftover Tetrazzini. Not sure what I will make to go with, perhaps some coleslaw to use up more cabbage.

Friday
Salmon fillets, rice and mixed veggies.

Saturday
Sweet and Sour ribs, rice, and the remaining coleslaw.

Sunda
Pork roast, roasted potatoes, onions and carrots.

I am going to go through the fridge freezer this week so there could be a few changes to next weeks menu. I need to use things up and now is a good time to do so. However even when I use things up there is always more left for another meal, even enough to freeze sometimes for later.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Done and dusted with the help of Kurt and Kris.

Frugal Friday

Kris and I have been texting back and forth, he has reported the accident to our provincial insurance company and is keeping his fingers crossed that the lady who hit him is going to do the same (she said she was going to right away). However, just in case there is a bit of a fault in his one taillight from the accident he will come home early tomorrow instead of after work tonight. Kurt should still be coming home after school gets out (probably on his way by now).

So, what frugal past times have been happening around here.

1.  Drapes open while the sun is shining, the past two days this has helped heat the house.

2.  Two cups of the processed pumpkin is being used in the pies for this weekend. Checked the price of a can of pumpkin and the cost was over $3.00. Really went up over the past year. Using my own saves close to $2.00, and it used to be one could purchase a pumpkin pie at our Co-op for about $2.50. Now the price is $5.00.

3.  Today was our first day of turning the heat on. It was just too cold in here to try for another day or two. Got well below freezing last night.

4.  Only managed one meatless meal this week (had fake crab instead of meat, bought on sale for $2.50 a package). Hoping to get two mostly meatless meals next week.

5.  Baked two loaves of bread.

6.  Removed one pair of pants from my wardrobe. Keeping something that does not fit properly, or I don't wear anymore is wasteful when someone else can use them.

7.  Combined errands so as to save on fuel and wear/tear on the vehicle.

8.  Walked most mornings for free exercise.

Not too bad, but it seems as if many of these I do week after week. I think I need to step it up a bit on the frugal front.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Thrifty Thursday

It is already getting close to the end of the week. Our sons should be home sometime tomorrow, one quite a bit earlier than the other. So looking forward to them being here, even for a few days. I miss the hustle and bustle of a full house.

Just a bit of news before I post the thrifty happenings this past week. Kris was once again rear ended and this time there is even more damage. Poor guy seems to have the worst luck lately. The lady that hit him said she was going to report the accident immediately and I know Kris will do so as well. Lots more damage this time as his hatchback has been damaged as well. He can still open and close it however.

Okay onto what thrifty things have been happening in this household.

1.  Even though the temperature is dropping quite rapidly we have not turned on the heating as of yet.

2.  I picked absolutely everything I could out of the garden. All will be processed and used at some point over the next few months.

3.  Combined errands so as not to use fuel and save on wear/tear on the vehicle.

4.  Darned a pair of socks (they sure don't make them like they used to).

5. All leftovers eaten for another meal, made into something new, or frozen to be eaten at a later date.

Now I was asked what I use pumpkin puree for. I use it to make pie, muffins and loaves. I am thinking of trying soup and perhaps cookies this year since I have so many pumpkins to process.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

This Week Is Passing Much Too Quickly

Just a very quick post as I am back from a rather long meeting, and I have to get ready for the Bible Study tomorrow afternoon.

I was asked if I process my sauce. I usually freeze mine, but I believe that you can put the jars in a water bath. The timing is 25 min for pints.

I did pumpkin processing today. For the first time I put the puree in freezer bags (small ones, I just added 1 cup of puree to each). It worked wonderfully once I got used to spooning the puree in. Takes up way less room in the freezer, that's for sure.

Any way I am sorry I won't be able to visit tonight, but will be by tomorrow.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Tuesday Tidbits

Whoa, the day got away from me. I had hoped to post well before now, but I just got carried away doing other things.

I was asked to post my tomato sauce recipe so here it is.

Tomato Sauce

5 lbs ripe tomatoes, peeled and coarsely chopped (1 1/2 kg)

2 large onions finely chopped (I put mine through the food processor)

1 cup white vinegar (250 ml)

2 cloves minced garlic (or the equivalent in garlic powder)

4 Bay leaves

2 tsp dried basil (10ml)

2 tsp dried oregano (10 ml)

2 tsp regular salt (10 ml)

1/2 tsp pepper (2 ml)

1/2 tsp allspice (2 ml)

1 cup sugar (I use slightly less) (250 ml)

Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil on medium-high, stirring often. Simmer uncovered for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened to desired consistency. I use my immersion blender at this point to smooth out any large pieces. Pour into containers, leaving 1" head room if freezing. Or you can pour into sterilized jars to 1/4 inch from top and seal.

Off to get supper on the table, I will be back to visit you all a bit later.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Menu Monday

Another week of menus, that I plan to try my best to stick to. Could be a bit of a challenge as meetings are starting up once again.

Monday

Leftover Moussaka.

Tuesday

Leftover ham from the fridge freezer made into a casserole. Served with sliced cukes and tomatoes (I found 2 more small cukes in the garden).

Wednesday

I will make Kraut Biroikes (what I call cabbage bread) and while the vast majority will go in the freezer, some will be for Harvey's supper. I have a meeting and a light repast will be served there.

Thursday

Leftover casserole from Tuesday. I will probably make peas to go with.

Friday

Creamed fake lobster flakes served over toast. Probably served with mixed veggies.

Saturday

Hamburgers, baked beans and cherry tomatoes.

Sunday and our Thanksgiving

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, salad, cranberries, pickles and of course pumpkin pie.

Kurt and Kris will be home and I have to make sure and fill their tummies well.

Oh, and by some strange twist of fate, the WIFI drivers mysteriously appeared back on my laptop. Working to get all that I need done that I need a connection to before I lose it once again.

I will post the tomato sauce recipe first thing tomorrow.

Everybody have a wonderful day.

God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

Just a quick little post as I am now doing this on my TV turned computer screen.

I still have been unable to get the WIFI drivers up and running on the laptop, which means I have to go a different route for a bit. Not that I am complaining, just thankful I do have this route to use.

It also means I have to email any pictures to myself (thank heavens for two email accounts) and take them on my phone. Still at least I can post even though I need to go through more loops.

Today has been pretty quiet. I did manage to get some tomato sauce made. Here is the start.

This gave me three jars. I am hoping that in a few weeks I will be able to get more. Darn tomatoes need to ripen, and in the house that does not happen very quickly.

I also thought I would share one more picture of what Harvey and I have been working on.

Yep the frame for the garage is up, level and square. I am hoping that now he will wait until Kurt and Kris are home to do the rest.

Now off to visit you all, though I may use my phone for that. Series premieres for some of my favourite shows are on.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Saturday Roundup

Well I am back to using my phone for posts. More problems with the laptop, and tomorrow I will pull out the old slow desktop and use it until I manage to get the WIFI back up and working.

So this means you all may need to forgive spelling  and grammatical errors. Also posts could be a bit short. As well as pictures being out of place.

I have managed to add 6 rows to the quilt flimsy, finished watching Revenge on Disney+ while sewing or knitting, almost cleared out the garden and helped Harvey with the assembly of the garage frame.

Today I used up the remaining eggplant in the fridge. I made Moussaka, and there will definitely  be enough for another meal. The picture is at the top.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Now to figure out how to visit you all....
