It has been awhile since I did a rambling post, so I guess I should do one tonight.
We found out today (well very late yesterday) that Harvey's doctor will no longer be practicing. Now he needs to find another doctor within the next 4 or 5 months. Perhaps even earlier if his prescriptions are canceled because of this. I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday and will ask if she is willing to take him on as a patient. Chances are not good and this means he will need to go to a walk in clinic (which are few and far between) to see if he can get them renewed. Also we have a nurse practitioner which could take him on at a cost of almost $100.00 a visit. But if worse comes to worse that will be the way we have to go.
Mass was actually very good today. Probably the main reason was we could actually understand and connect with this visiting priest. Makes such a difference when you can understand where the speaker is coming from. He had such wonderful stories that combined so very well with the readings today. The Mass reached me in a way that it hasn't in a very long time.
My arm is a bit sore today, but I powered through some hand quilting this afternoon and I hope to finish the first of pair number 9 tonight. It would be so nice to be able to mark a few items off the project list early in the month (carried these over to October).
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
Jackie, I hope that Harvey is able to find 🙏 another doctor soon.
ReplyDeleteI always dislike it when a Dr leaves or no longer practises. It is often very hard to find a new Dr & especially one that we like or get along with. I hope Harvey has some luck Jackie. xx
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope Harvey can find a new doctor. I’ve still been unable to replace one of my doctors after they left. How wonderful that you connected with the visiting priest today. It is such a good feeling to connect in that way. I hope your arm is feeling better today. You encourage me to do better on making items for Christmas. I want to make some large casserole hot pads for family members.
ReplyDeleteI to hope Harvey gets another doctor, it's a bit of a worry when taking repeat meds.
ReplyDeleteAs we get older we need to have reliable healthcare and it’s just not the time to be searching for new doctors. It’s like that here. So few doctors and many not taking new patients. I sure hope Harvey will find a new doctor and his meds can be prescribed when they run out with no delays.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get Harvey's doctor situation sorted soon. It must be a worry.
ReplyDeleteTim is dealing with that in a way now, his doctor sold the practice to go teach and while the office is there, he's gonna look for a new one.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about your arm. Will it heal over time?
Thanks for stopping in to visit. Gonna take a poke about your blog now and have a few reads.
Cheers, Ivy 🎃
We have the same problem here. Not enough doctors and too many clinics being sold to major healthcare companies that employ the worst doctors.
ReplyDeleteThere are no doctors here in town, just a few who circulate through the hospital. I still have a family doctor in Regina but dislike him so much I rarely go there. Luckily, knock wood, I don't need any prescriptions. At some point I'll see if I can find a doctor in the next town over. That's only a 25 minute drive rather than 90 minutes. I do hope you're able to find someone for Harvey.
ReplyDeleteHaving to find a new doctor is getting to be a problem everywhere, even way down here in New Zealand. And we can wait several weeks for a non urgent appointment. Remember those days we could phone the doctors office and get an appointment the same day?
