It turned out quite nicely I think. Harvey asked if I could add some greenery to the outside edge and so I did that today. He will hang it later tonight, for now the wreath is sitting on the shelf in the hall as you come in. I can hardly wait to have it permenatly hung up.
Next it was on the pie baking. I managed to get 3 pumpkin and one cherry pie made.
I next moved on to Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. their favorites. I had two cookie jars full and now all I have left is this one jar. I had forgotten how fast these disappear. Thank heavens I had put some in the freezer for each of them to take home when they left.
Sunday morning I woke up to this. Heavy wet snow, that kept on falling for the entire day.
That was okay. The turkey and stuffing cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were light, and the gravy had no lumps. Who could ask for anymore.
Today, the boys left. My house is quiet, and I miss them dreadfully already.
Well off to visit all of you.
Everybody have a wonderful evening. God bless.
It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday with your family. The cookies and pies look delicious, Jackie!
ReplyDeleteIt all sounded so wonderful~ I love all the comfort food (smile)~ and I love the glass cookie jar...I'm going to look for one! My grandaughters would have fun seeing the goodies. Right now I have a mesh teapot that I fill with candy for their visits.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have your computer back!
Hugs to you~ and it's always so nice when you take the time to visit.
God bless!
Hi Jackie, Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you and wondered if you got the snow... I see you did!!!! I always hated to see it come so early when we lived there! However I expect it will be gone soon. We had a lovely week-end, in the upper 20's...It will change by next week so i hear.
Your baking looked so good. I did none....no company either. Just wasn't up to it, so DH took me out for a turkey dinner...Next year will be better I hope.
Take care and stay warm
xoxoxoxo

Jackie,
ReplyDeleteI do hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, my friend. We had summer-like temperatures today. It's hard to believe that you had snow. However, hubby told me earlier that snow fell in Saskatchewan overnight. Do you think it will stay?
I love your wreath and the pies and cookies look delicious. Mmm!
I was sorry to hear that the child you teach had a shutdown. These, as you read, are triggered by pressure, so if possible, try to avoid pressuring him. If I can help at any time, just let me know. I will be glad to give you any information I have.
Blessings and hugs,
Mary

I wanted to stop by and let you know that the circle journal made it to me safe and sound. Thank you so much for the stickers! That was really sweet. I've really enjoyed reading everybody's entries and getting to know you all. What a fun project this is!
Have a great day
~Paula
