Saturday Roundup

We have had lots of rainy days this past week. This means that outside work was done between rain showers. Still lots to do out there and I am just hoping to get it all done before the snow falls. We did a bit at the beginning of the week getting the solar lighting in and the garden decor. Today we put up some of the cushions on the patio furniture to hopefully dry and then tomorrow we will be covering and moving said furniture. One more step towards winter yard prep.

I also need to get Harvey to give me some paint and get at least one coat on some of the windows, especially the basement ones. One coat would give them a bit of protection against the nasty winter weather.

With Kurt and Kris home, I didn't get as much done on my projects as I had hoped. Still working on the embroidery and knitting of dishcloths. Pretty sure I will be done the knitting by the middle of next week, and will start on the oven mitts.

I found some ties for my loom and ordered two sets. The cost of postage is extremely high and I am not too sure those will actually cost as much as they say to mail. I will search for a less expensive way to get these the next time. I may even try the heavy string through the holes as I see others do.

I am getting caught up slowly on my YouTube channels. My goodness there are some prolific vloggers out there. I don't think I could ever post as much as many do, and do I want to allow people that much entry into my daily life? While I am pretty much what you see is what you get on my blog, vlogging seems to take way too much time and allows too many people to say you are doing things wrong. Fact is everyone manages their lives and money in their own way, there is no one way only and no one should say the way you do things is wrong. Much nicer group of people here on Blogger (well most of the time and I have been lucky not to have many trolls).

Off to get supper made, and then visit all of you over the course of cooking and after dishwashing if necessary.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Hi dear Jackie, you have a great list of things to do, and I am sure 😊 you will achieve your goal. If not, then you know that you did as much as you could, which is great. I don't like it 😕 when trolls go around making people's lives miserable, or at least trying to.
We are all different and have different ways of doing things, but this doesn't mean that we are doing things wrong. Deliberately hurting others is wrong.
We do our best and let God be the judge is the way I try to be.
God bless you, dear friend, and I hope your weekend is as lovely as you are. 😊

  2. I’ve had the same thoughts as you do on shipping costs. Sometimes I wonder if it really costs that much to ship an item. Speaking of paint, I would like to paint our picnic table a barn red color this fall. I think that would look nice. Painting your windows will definitely give them a level of protection from the harsh winter weather.
I like Blogging over making YouTube videos too and we are a good group of people. 😊
I’ve still not started my large casserole hot pads, but you always inspire me to get started on those.

  3. I have always loved Blogging, it's a gentle look into lives around the world, I can share parts of my life, whilst keeping my own privacy. I found many years ago, my sister and I have the same love of knitting, sewing and crafting, but our styles are vastly different, it's a good life lesson to have. You are always so very busy, I need to get myself going again.

  4. You Tube is amazing - so many things to learn and see. I couldn't do it - it takes so much time and effort. I do good to get my blogs done.
Winter will soon be here - preps are in the process everywhere.

  5. You've had a busy week. We will be putting the outside to "bed" for the year this next week as well. We are reckoning once more for cutting the grass, then it will be mainly picking up leaves as and when they fall. It's still warm here in Southern Ontario. I too love YouTube video's. There are a lot of clever people out there, that's for sure. Enjoyed reading this week's blog post's of yours.

  7. I hope the weather holds off so you can complete those outdoor jobs.
Inside, you have a whole season to do those things.

  8. I agree that life on Blogger does tend to be pretty friendly. Like you, I wouldn't want to put myself out there on YouTube. I admire people that do, but it sounds like a lot of work and I'm too self conscious to appear in videos. In addition, it sounds like hard work to constantly come up with video ideas and keep it interesting.
