Midweek

Bob has left the building and I have begun to clean a few of the areas that got a bit messy while he was visiting. Funnily enough he did not want to leave with them. It will be strange not to have him mewling at night and me going to sleep on the couch to keep him quiet.

I did not let Kevin and Nancy all the things that Bob kind of destroyed during his visit. What good would it do other than make them feel bad? So nothing mentioned. Any way's I really like my pink keyboard.😊

Middle of the last week of this month. My goodness, soon we will be into the last month of the first quarter of the year. My list of project plans is growing, even if I haven't written them down. My mind is spinning with ideas to use up my various stashes and ideas for gifts later on. Must stop that as I will never complete them all. I need to concentrate on just a few every month.

Simplifying life is moving along. Really right now most of what is happening is decluttering and organizing. My organization is using what I have and trying not to bring extra items into the house to make things "match". I do have some rolls of wrapping paper that I can cover things with if I do want to "beautify" things. I may do so after things are tidy and well organized, but I really do not have to.

I have been working on a few ways to save a bit more but still enjoy our current way of life.

I am going to talk to Kurt and Kris and perhaps get Harvey a smarter TV for his mancave. I really would like to rid ourselves of our Max TV (what our tv is in Saskatchewan) and go with more streaming options which would more than likely work out to be less expensive in the long run. Saving money on television would be just awesome. There are lots of free streaming services as well that I believe he would love to take advantage of. He was looking at televisions when we were shopping. This is our only entertainment so spending a bit is worthwhile.

There is also more room downstairs for some drying lines and I think I will get Harvey to put them up. Last spring, summer and fall the weather was so very strange I didn't get to use the outside lines as much as I would have liked. By having some more lines downstairs I could still manage to dry more without the use of the dryer on those rainy days, and last year it always seemed to rain on laundry day.

Pretty sure I will think of more ways to save as the days head into spring.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

  1. I bet you will miss Bob for a few days. Cats can be such good company.
I went to the store today and was pleasantly surprised at how many things lowered in price since the last visit. Not sure how long it will last - but it was nice.

  2. I had a sneaky feeling that Bob wouldn't want to go home. He seemed happy at your place. OH has wanted a smart TV for ages, but as our non-smart TV still works just fine, I'm happy to stick with it for now. I certainly don't want a bigger one either.

  3. So Bob is now gone. Will you miss him, just a little bit? A new TV would probably lower electricity bill. I had my mom and dad’s console tv for years and we kept saying as soon as it dies, we’ll get a smart tv. The dang thing never died - it worked beautifully. We couldn’t sell it so we put it on the driveway for free and 2 high school boys took it to experiment with the electronics of it. It had a beautiful wood cabinet. Since we’ve had 3 smart tvs. They don’t last as long as the old school ones. But we enjoy it. However, they don’t stay “smart” forever. That’s when you know you need a new one. We only have the one tv in the living room.
I liked your pink keyboard! Snazzy!

  4. I love that you didn't tell them because why make them feel bad. 100 percent I get that.

Today I decluttered the photography stuff. Done and dusted and feeling fresh. Got rid of some stuff and then set everything else up real nice.

Wishing you a great rest of the week. What's left. Goes fast!

  5. Dear Jackie, I smiled when I read "Bob has left the building". :)
I love how you save money and cut back on things you don't need.
It is good to be able to enjoy life and the people and things in our lives, we don't need a lot to do this! I am glad that you are not cutting back to the point where you don't enjoy life, you are doing an amazing job, dear friend!

  6. I understand why Bob did not want to leave, having such good holiday accommodation, he will be dreaming about you for ages.

  7. Bob has gone home, do you miss him? Some things I would miss about our cats, other things not so much. Lol

  8. We cut the cord on cable (Max TV) a couple of years ago, and haven’t looked back. We have Prime and I add and delete other channels depending on what we want to watch.

  9. I don't miss cable either and I was probably one of the most reluctant people. Streaming seemed too complicated but I've come to really enjoy the variety. Though there are days when I can't find anything to watch. :)
I know Harvey likes sports and one of the services is now bundling Crave with two other services, Disney Plus and TSN. We're paying $15.75 a month for it - my daughter has an Amazon prime membership so that gives us Prime, and we also purchase an annual subscription for Paramount Plus. To get the Junior Hockey and Blue Jays baseball, I had purchased a Sportsnet subscription, but they jacked up the price and I cancelled it. Even including that, we were still under the price I was paying for Max.
Glad Bob has left the building, though it would seem he would have preferred to stay.

  11. Tv's are so cheap now, watch for sales at Wal mart. Or the equivalent. We have had our large TV for almost 6 years from Wal mart.
