Weekly Roundup

No real projects completed, instead this has been a week of trying to keep ahead of a cat that likes to cause problems, and doing a bit of cooking ahead for meals later on.

I am really liking the molds as they make freezing and preparing for the chest freezer so much easier. I think that this will be an awesome way to prepare items for future meals.

Mushroom soup was made (yes finally got on sale mushrooms) and frozen in those molds. Popped out and they now reside in my chest freezer.

Gathering the ingredients to make the lentil taco filling.

Cooking that filling.

Freezing that filling.

Popping the extra hamburger soup portions and the red lentil taco filling out. Getting them ready for the chest freezer. In the bag are the prepared pork loin and few chicken breasts I managed to purchase in my grocery shop this biweekly visit.

Next week it will be Sweet and Sour meatballs and probably another soup or two.

This isn't to say I haven't been working on my various crafty projects. I have but not a great deal to show any progress on them. Part of the reason is Bob. He is taking up more of my time than I ever thought a cat could.

I have broken down and ordered a new keyboard for use with the computer. I had wanted to hold out a while longer, but I am tired of posts disappearing every so often.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. What are these molds you speak of? What do they look like and how much is each serving? Thanks

  2. It sounds like lots of yummy food was made. I think we may have the same stove. Mine’s an LG bought in ‘24 and delivered on Thanksgiving weekend.. I’d say that i love it but that’s a lie. It does the job. I loved the one i had before it. This one has a griddle down the middle which is cool.

  4. I just read all your recent posts,Jackie. I'm intrigued as always by your thrift choices, menu lists and all your efforts to get the most value for your money. So admirable. Meanwhile, I am interested in these molds. They make so much sense for freezing things especially sauce type foods. You two take care now.

  5. LOVE the idea of those molds. May look into that myself. I think it would make packing the freezer so much easier with things being uniform in size. You sound very organized. Hope things with Bob slow down a bit for you and hope the new keyboard works out for you.

  6. We don't have molds per se, but we bought plastic containers at the dollar store that the RC uses to freeze soups into. Once they're frozen, he takes them out and seals them with the vacuum sealer. They stack nicely in the freezer and generally hold enough for a couple meals for the two of us.

  7. You keep so busy! While you are filling your freezer, I'm busy trying to eat up everything I have here. :)

  8. Your lentil taco mix looks good. I need to freeze some garlic paste in ice cube trays this week.
