My extra cleaning today has consisted of whittling down my wardrobe of sweaters. I am trying to get back to the way things were when we were first married and I had all my clothes to hand for every season. Just have to go through my dresses and such for fall and winter. I will try and put them all in our bedroom closet and then as I wear them or at least try them on and decide whether to keep them or not. I am really simplifying my wardrobe this summer.
The next thing I plan on doing is simplifying my sewing/craft room by adding storage to the closet once it is emptied. Having storage, or rather the correct storage will really help me know where all is located.
It has been a very slow and simple day. I froze some small turnips, the kohlrabi, dehydrated oregano and sage, picked in the garden, went for a very short walk, baked bread and picked in the garden. Got in a little visit with a bush bunny that has taken up residence in the backyard as well.
Harvey finished cutting the free firewood we got last year and it now resides with my help in the woodshed. Hopefully we get to have another fire in the firepit very soon.
Doing slow stitching as well. I am almost finished hand quilting the small quilt. I might be able to finish that tomorrow and pull out the second one to start. Simple quilting happening here, nothing fancy at all.
There is going to be a change in the menu tonight. I will make the pasta salad tomorrow, tonight I will use a gift card that I was given as a gift and purchase a pizza. Easy supper as I still have things that need to be completed and am tiring out. Even though I have started to slow things down a bit, there are still things that need to be done for the smooth running of the homestead.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
I do the same thing s you regarding clothes…as I wear them or try them on,I’m deciding on weather or not to keep each item. It works well for me.
ReplyDeleteI own more clothing now that I ever did, because I keep items at both my son's and at home. Some day, I'll figure out the appropriate amount to keep at each. I do recall as a child, we would put away winter clothes and take out summer clothing and vice versa as we didn't have big closets and dressers. What I don't recall is where mom stored the off season clothing.
ReplyDeleteI still need to harvest some of the herbs. The air fryer has a setting for dehydrating and we used it for some parsley - it worked great!
Those garden goodies sure are tasty and will be great later on.
ReplyDeleteI know I have too many clothes but when I compare my closet to those of my friends, I have a fraction of what they have. I keep things 'just in case' and I know I should really get rid of them. I have to change out the closet (at least my part of it) seasonally because otherwise I just don't have room. DH has twice as much storage as I do so all his clothing stays put all year.
