Sunday Ramblings

We got snow today, in fact at one point it was coming down fairly heavy. The next few days are going to be snowy if the weather pundits are correct.

I had trouble sleeping last night, might have managed 3 or so hours so hopefully tonight I will be able to get some rest. I don't dare sleep during the day, as I have learnt from experience that makes sleep at night very difficult if not impossible sometimes.

I managed to get most of the tasks done today, even one that I did not get done yesterday. I might actually get an extra task from tomorrow completed after supper.

I have been lax in using some of my kitchen appliances so today I pulled out the toaster oven to make the Christmas squares, and will use it again to make our supper. After all two Chicken Parma do not take up much room in the oven. I am still considering a hotplate type appliance so that I do not have to use the stove as often either. We shall see, perhaps a Christmas present to myself.

It was the Second Sunday of Advent today, so the second candle in the wreath was lit.

The waiting for Christmas is half over. This week we concentrate on the peace Christ will bring to each of us and the world. Something desperately needed now.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. I hope you get rest tonight. A little nap never bothers me, but I know it does many.
Many blessings to you in the coming week.

  2. Dear Jackie, we got a lot of snow here in Montreal yesterday and the temperature climbed up to zero! But today it is very cold...tomorrow is set to be minus 29C with the wind! So lovely to see your post.
I pray that you get a good sleep tonight. I have had nights like you describe where I have trouble sleeping and I can relate to what you said about sleeping during the day only makes it worse. If I sleep in the afternoon I am almost 100% certain I won't sleep that night.

  3. Concentrating on the peace that Christ will bring to the world is a very comforting thought. I was able to get several tasks done today as well. The house is all done being decorated for Christmas now too. I hope you’re able to sleep better tonight.

  5. I hope you managed to get some better sleep. I used to be such a good sleeper when I was younger, but now I'm older it's a real struggle some nights. I'm hoping for some snow! My dad wasn't impressed with this hope though haha.

  6. We could do with all the peace we can get at the moment. I'm struggling to get to sleep most nights these days, even without sleeping during the day. It's very exhausting.

  7. Oh, I hate those nights when sleep is elusive. I'm impressed you were able to get so much done, despite your tiredness.
The snow is falling here too, with more expected over the next 4 days.

  8. I'm certainly in solidarity with you over sleep issues. It's always a surprise when I wake up at a decent time and still in the bed. Often I end up out on the living room couch.
