I was looking out the window last night at about 7 and thought I would share one of our sunsets with you all. I am loving the longer days we are finally having.
I am still having a terrible time trying to download pictures from the gallery on my phone to the gallery on the computer. Hmmm, perhaps it is time to make a visit up to Regina and get Kris to perhaps figure out what the heck is happening. Strange things for sure and I have made a couple of password changes, and I will have to phone one company in about a week to see why I can not log into my account. They changed things and have locked me out it seems.
There is a gas station just down the hill in the valley below us and Harvey has taken to using his binoculars to check out the price per liter of fuel each day. Today the price is $1.45.9 per liter so in the two weeks since the Iran bombing started our price has gone up $0.21 a liter. I am pretty sure things will get worse before they get better. I think we might be happy to have the grow lights for some veggie starters this spring, and fresh veggies in the winter.
Laughingly (well perhaps not laughingly) I told Harvey I was thinking that having a wagon to pull my groceries home might be an excellent idea if the prices for fuel keep on going up. It would perhaps save a trip with the car. Probably, much more frugal and great exercise in the long run. I have mentioned that before and Harvey has just laughed it off. Not so this time. I really think some of my frugal ideas could actually be rubbing off on him.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Dear Jackie, your photo is absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny Jackie. I see seniors around here riding their e-bikes towing a trailer to the store. I'd just be afraid someone would steal it when I went in to the store. My son has had his bike stolen twice. If they encourage us to buy e-bikes, they should also provide a safe place to park them when we were inside stores. They never think about that!
ReplyDeleteMy husband built a basket for my bike so i could ride it to the store. The store is about half a mile. I think you should give your idea a go! You might enjoy it. Our gas has gone up 20 cents a gal. One gas station is thirty cents higher than that, even. I can’t imagine they’re getting many customers.
ReplyDeleteTechnology drives me bonkers at times. I can never remember passwords. I hope you get sorted soon.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely sunset photo. Beautiful 😍
Angie
Beautiful sunset. I have a pull around cart; I take to farm markets and such - helps from carrying so much. They are handy.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're still having photos issues. That's not fun. Hope they get sorted for you soon. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteGasoline here has went up from $2.39 to. $2.99 a gallon, so an increase of 60 cents, which we did not need. Sigh.
Belinda
Yup, I said that in my last comment. You are rubbing off on Harvey. Your picture is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI loved the vision of watching the fuel prices through binoculars - wondered if turning them round and looking through the other way would make them smaller ! :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing sunset photo.
It does take time for hubbies to catch up with us, proves finally they are listening. Love your sunset.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a really practical idea.
ReplyDeleteIf you are on a safe road to walk with your wagon, I say go for it. I also got a chuckle thinking of Harvey with his binoculars, checking the gas prices. Your photo is gorgeous! - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! Yes, the weather this time of year is certainly changeable. Heavy ice here underfoot. Creeping about outside. I watched a turkey flock struggle through sinking into snow to sliding about on the laneway.
ReplyDeleteI got a chuckle out of Harvey using the binoculars to check out the gas prices - the binoculars part, NOT the increase in price!
ReplyDeleteThere is a meme that outlines the 11 seasons - for spring, there is fool's spring, second winter, spring of deception, third winter, mud season, and actual spring. I think this is particularly true for Saskatchewan!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have to go far, the wagon would be a good idea. I'd like to do that but our two grocery stores are quite distance from us and also between the stores. I just need to stop shopping as frequently, though the child who loves fruit has me in the store every week.
Fingers crossed you are able to find a solution for the photo upload issue. A visit to Kris would be nice too!
Beautiful sunset. I love the idea of Harvey checking out the petrol prices using his binoculars. Brilliant. I tend to use our car once per week to do a 25 mile round trip for the weekly shop. If things got so expensive, I would sacrifice it and shop more locally, but I do like spending one day out of town per week.
ReplyDeleteThere’s nothing like prairie sunsets and sunrises.
ReplyDeleteActually my late mother in law had a wagon and went i.5 miles each way to get her groceries after she no longer drove. She did this until 96, then it became too much. I think that is a great idea. Gas has gone up here 70 cents.
ReplyDeleteThe fuel prices are a worry worldwide. And it's not just our own fuel for the cars either, it's also the fuel needed go transport goods throughout the country. New Zealand imports all oil and petrol, so that puts us at a disadvantage during this crisis.
