Tuesday Tidbits

 

I headed out at a relatively early hour to do my shopping hoping that it would warm up a tiny bit. It did by 10 am it had reached a balmy -32C up a whole degree from what it was at 7 am. So I bravely made my way out and got the shopping done, hopefully, for the next two weeks. I may have to venture out later next week to purchase more milk, but I did purchase extra.

After the shopping trip and getting things away I was soooo tired. I ended up parking my behind on my chair, knitting in hand and started watching Trauma on BritBox and now I am watching a lady frugally help people redo their homes. Shabby chic, or retro. Seems to be interesting to say the least. 

Thought I would share a few pictures today.

A couple of pictures of our snow. We have had a bit more since these were taken.

The quilt that is finished as much as I can right now. I may do some machine stitching on the cream border once Kris gets to see it on Christmas day.

I have decided to get all the baking done before I sew myself something for Christmas. This could mean me doing so on Christmas Eve, but what will be will be.

Saturday Roundup

I mentioned yesterday that our weather had changed once again.

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning. By the afternoon the sun was out and the snow melted completely away. I am hoping that this is the last of winter's blast, but I have a feeling we will be seeing more, just hope we are gone when it arrives.

I spent some time in the craft/sewing room making some drawstring bags.

There is no way on God's green earth that we could ever get the airplane pillows back in the included bags, so I made one for each pillow. Then I thought about trying to wrangle out the earphones from the bottom of the carry on and decided to make a bag for them as well. Next I thought about Harvey's camera battery charger and my cord and adapter and decided that a bag could be useful for those as well. I wonder if I should stop thinking.

Thirty-third Anniversary and A Whole Lot of Snow

On Friday I woke up to a great deal of snow. We received about 20 cm or close to 10 inches in less than 24 hours. It made going to work an exercise in stamina and following ruts a must. I will say going to work was easier than coming home after work as I could not see what I was driving through in the morning.

Harvey and I shovelled snow this morning so at least I can get in and out of my driveway, and to the major roads. Our road is still pretty bad, covered in ruts and the end of the street is pretty soft, and hard to plow through. I took this picture just before our epic shovelling session. Really think we need a snow blower. According to the weather forecasters, we are supposed to get another 20 cm over the next few days.

Today Harvey and I celebrated our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. He wanted to take me out for supper, but I (being the chicken I am) did not want to travel down the horrible roads. I made a very nice supper of Bacon Wrapped Fillets, Baked Potatoes (with all the trimmings), Caesar Salad and Chocolate Mousse for a fraction of the price we would have paid for the same meal in a restaurant.

Harvey did come home with a surprise, a dozen red roses and a card to say that he loves me more now than when we first married. Good thing, cause I don't know who else would put up with me when I get in one of my grouchy moods.
