Thrifty and Frugal
Another week has gone by and we are halfway through the month already.
So what thrifty and frugal things have I been up to this week?
I managed to go two days beyond my last shopping trip which was awesome. Even got lots of items on sale (though the sale price now seems to be even higher than the old regular price).
Continued walking for free exercise.
Managed to get this new laptop at the "Black Friday" cost, plus another deduction of $140.00.
Hung more clothing on the lines downstairs.
Used up the bits and bobs of leftover roasts I had bagged and in the fridge freezer making casseroles. I hope to do that more often each month.
Saved the plastic bags that the produce comes in to use for scooping kitty litter when Kris brings Eiko to visit.
Fixed a seam on a pair of Harvey's pajamas.
Bought on sale produce and got some great deals, we should be able to have salads for a good long time.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
Sounds good!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, you are true to your goals.
ReplyDeleteGood job.
You're doing well with your thrifty doings! I, on the other hand, spent more than I probably should have buying flannel fabric to make PJ's for all our family members. Cheaper, perhaps, than buying gifts, but fabric sure isn't cheap these days.
ReplyDeleteLots of thrifty frugal practices Jackie - well done! Isn't November going by so incredibly fast?! December will be here in the blink of an eye. xx
ReplyDeleteHi. I'm back and sorry for going AWOL for a while. How nice to get a laptop so reduced. xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a pretty resourceful week.
ReplyDeleteGlad you could get the laptop on sale!
ReplyDeleteOddly, I'm finding that the sale prices here in our small town are starting to be similar to the sale prices in the city. Now, the regular prices are considerably higher so I'm making we purchase when items on our sale and stocking up.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get your new laptop at a discount. They've definitely come down in price over the years, but are still pretty expensive and likely to become more so.
Hi Jackie, thank you for popping over my place & leaving a comment, I appreciate it so much. Yes that bread cloche was new to me also. I suppose I could make a regular non sourdough in it, it will be round. What is intended to do is steam the bread, help it to rise, and put a nice crust on it, which is perfect for sourdough. When I made non sourdough bread, I warmed the bottom, and then put that dough (in a bowl ) inside the bottom, it is stoneware and stays warm helps the bread to rise, now that it is cooler it is more difficult to keep things warm.
ReplyDeleteYou had a successful frugal and thrifty week!

You always do so well being thrifty.
ReplyDeleteWell done on the shopping. Everything has gotten so expensive here that I try to limit my shopping. Great deal on your laptop too. Hope you & Harvey have a wonderful weekend!
