I am surprised that I have managed to get all my daily tasks done already as well as a few extra cleaning/decluttering tasks as well. I have even knit a bit while waiting for my vehicle to have its oil change and tire swap.
It is snowing, blowing and icy out so I am certainly glad that the winter tires are now on the SUV. The drive home from the dealer while not relaxing was much less white knuckled than the drive to the dealership.
Nesting will be beginning very soon. When winter draws in I seem to be happiest staying close to home and getting on with projects, baking and cooking. Mostly a homebody here and am quite content to be so.
Once the snow stops a bit (well that will not happen until late tonight or early tomorrow morning) we will head out and do a bit of shoveling. This is heavy, wet snow so it will be fun to move.
Looking online I have found a place that I can purchase more batting for the potato bags. Thoughts are running through my head that I could perhaps make some and sell them online. Many other people do not too badly selling their craft items. These would not be overly costly to make or for people to purchase. Just something to be considered. I might even try some other small crafts and see how they go.
Since I found the batting I am going to see if I can find the embroidery thread for my machine. To my dismay I found out that Fabricland no longer carried it. While there is lots in the case, there are a few colours that will need replacing very soon. Amazon is a big rabbit hole where one could disappear for days and spend oodles of cash without leaving the comfort of your home.
Everybody have a wonderful afternoon or evening.
God bless.
Hi Jackie Try Needleworks store Canada. They are out of Cochrane Ontario. We get your snow starting tonight lol. Jean in Manitoba
ReplyDeleteIt looks like we're finally out of the storm, and now it's just cold and windy out there. It's going to be a nasty day. Other than taking my grandson to school, I think we'll be hunkering down for most of it.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
I'm with you in liking to stay in when the weather is bad. When I was younger I liked winter sports and being outside; not now. The fear of falling and breaking something at my age is real. Sounds like you've been busy. Love to see some pics of your crafts in the works. Sorry you're dealing with snow, hope it's not too bad now that you've got your snow tires on. Clicking on your name doesn't take me to your blog; it takes me to your profile page instead use the name url option and cut and past your blog url. When I make my blog rounds, I copy and past the url from my latest post and that's what I put in the url space and my name or blog name in the name space. Clicking on that takes the person to your latest blog post directly. Amazon is a rabbit hole....I've gotten stuck there too many times from the comfort of my computer chair...though I prefer that over shopping. I've never liked to shop....one exception is a nice yarn store, lol.
ReplyDeleteI would agree, I'm not a shopper either, but do like to look at yarn in person but have ordered from catalogs with success. The craft stores are very limited it would seem at least in my area.
DeleteWell done on getting things checked off the list. Colder weather is headed our way here in North Carolina tonight and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie! I use a mold for the tapers, it makes 6 at a time. I purchased a kit from https://www.townsends.us/collections/candlemaking. The mold is made in the USA, by hand. It includes the mold, wax, wick & booklet. Everything to get you started. It is an enjoyable pastime. I also use a heating element to melt the wax so I don't do it on the stove which is safer. Faith
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are staying as busy as I am. I have missed you!
ReplyDeleteI could quite happily hibernate and never set my nose outside in the winter at all. Not practical, I know. Got our winter tires put on yesterday so at least I feel a little safer.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome. I couldn't agree more. We are Homebodies for sure and I wouldn't want to do anything else.
