Tidbits and Stuff

A day spent inside, baking bread, making granola and doing the usual household tasks normally done on this day. I did not venture outside at all. A lovely and quiet day here on the Phillips homestead.

This arrived last night.

Snow fell for most of the evening and into the early hours of the morning. Kind of a wet snow really, and so this morning when I woke up the roads had become icy. It really is nice not to have to head out for work, or to actually pay bills or shovel. Still I will be outside to pick up a parcel that is hopefully delivered at some point. But the roads being as bad as they are I am not too sure what I am looking for will really arrive.

I continued on the straightening of the linen closet in the hall and picked up a few items in the hallway leading downstairs and put them in their proper place.

There could be a bit of time spent in the sewing/craft room picking up a few items in there. I can never understand how that room gets so disorganized in just a few days.

I am sleeping better and the pain in my back and hips has pretty much disappeared. Now that the temperatures are not going up and down in giant swings things will be much more manageable. It can now be controlled once again by changing positions or walking a bit every so often.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  2. Oh, I’m glad to hear your pain has subsided and you are sleeping better. The snow is beautiful and I’m glad you don’t have to get out in it either.

  3. We’re in the U.P. of Michigan. We have blizzard warnings for tomorrow. I am not ready. Up to 50 mph winds possible. Ack! I’ll be checking flashlights, bringing up gas canisters for the Mr. Buddy and making sure we can eat if the power goes out. Nothing like getting it all at once. The turkey is thawing and everything else can be prepared in short order for our Thanksgiving. I was kind of hoping that our decent weather would last until Feb. or March. 🤪 So nice that your sleep has improved! That’s a biggie!

  5. Glad the pain is almost gone and that you're sleeping better. Love baking bread. Doing that so many times a week now that the oven got fixed. Tomorrow, Christmas buns aka, Cinnamon Rolls!

  7. I am so pleased your pain is easing, a sore back can really get you down. There is nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread wafting through the kitchen, is there.

  8. Glad you're feeling better. Sorry about the snow and I agree, it's nice not to have to go out in it like we did when working. Hopefully it won't stick around too long. Ours was about a 3 days affair due to the temps. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

  11. Glad to hear your pain is being alleviated.
I don't think they had any snow in the city, as there was none at my brother's place 20 minutes north. There wasn't any at home in town either. Fingers crossed it holds off until I return. Drive safe!
