Shopping and Realizing Prices Really Are Hitting Highs

So I went shopping yesterday and could have cried over how much prices are going up over all.

Definitely more than last time I went shopping and way more than last year at this time. Still I did manage to get lots on sale (though sale price was the regular price even just a few months ago).

So here is my shopping, and yes I did purchase a small roast beef which was on sale, but one of the reasons I almost cried.

One of two pictures of my shopping. It seems like getting pictures from my phone to blogger is getting a bit more difficult.

I think I might need Kris to get things working properly once again, or find my silly camera which seems to have disappeared in the house.

Life seems to be getting slightly complicated rather than simplified.

Off to get supper completed, a visit with all of you and then work on a project or two.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. We went shopping today at Meijer. It’s an hour away. My husband wanted oil for two cars so that bumped the total up to 150.00! They’re giving out 10.00 coupons for 100.00 purchase. Silly me, i thought it would be a close call. I got two packages of their sausage links, two salad bags, too many snacks, onions, marked down bread, juice for hubby. There were no mark downs in the meat dept. I can usually find at least one package reduced. Yep, it’s getting scary with the prices.

  2. I'm concerned about gasoline prices skyrocketing which will impact so many people along with food prices and availability. Hope you keep finding sales!

  3. I only spent $20 today at the store. I didn't need much except milk, eggs, apples and a few other things that I can't remember now.

  4. We started some new things to help save and one of them is whatever is on the bottom shelf, gets eaten first. So we laugh. What's for supper one of us will as and the other say, "Whatever's on the bottom shelf."

    It's really helped a lot.

And I now make homemade makeup remover pads and napkins. Gone are the paper towels and store-bought makeup remover pads.

It's really nice. All these great ways to save a buck.

And Aldi helps us a lot. Grocery Outlet though I hear is closing a few stores. Not sure if you have one of those.

    Happy Weekend. Happy Savings.

  5. Same here in UK, with the promise of the issues in the middle east going to push prices up more.

  6. The prices are getting higher and there are some things I'm just not buying for that reason, sadly.

  7. Gone are the days of being able to buy treats or snack foods because it's more important to concentrate on the 'good' stuff. Some things we refuse to do without (oranges and grapes for instance) but we are refusing to buy them if they come from the US. Don't remember the last time we had a beef roast (or pork either). We do buy hamburger when it's on sale but it rarely gets eaten as burgers and instead gets stretched with vegetables to make soup.

  8. With the potential of drought this summer, I am anticipating beef prices will continue to climb. But as Poppy mentioned everything will go up - it will costs grocers more to get the products to store, and we will be paying for it.

  9. We used to joke that it was impossible to get out of Costco without spending $100 (if only it was still just that much), but it’s become almost the same at the grocery store. I avoid it as much as possible, sending Gerry for yogurt, milk, and eggs as the need arises.

  10. I so rarely see a sale price on a grocery item. I recently got pasta for $1/lb & I hadn't seen it at that price in multiple years. That was the regular discount offer you could get every month or so not that far back. - Hawaii Planner

  11. Yes, prices are getting high everywhere these days. And will only get worse with this new conflict going on, affecting shipping.

  12. I'm wondering how long it will be before prices here start jumping considerably due to fuel costs. It was bad enough before the start of the war with Iran.
