Simple Easy Living

As the days go by, I have noticed that my lists, and menu plans are becoming more and more condensed. I have been moving towards simpler easy to prepare meals, making large batches of food like soup, chili, and making sure leftovers are frozen and available for another meal or two.

Of course there can be changes, but I still manage to work my way through the simple meals even if I change the days around. Things still get used during the month. However I think that I am going to have to add an empty out the fridge meal once in awhile. That will be a total surprise and change the monthly menu a little bit.

As far as doing those tasks that are necessary for the smooth running of the household, this book allows me to do a daily list.

It also enables me to mark off when a task is completed. The one thing I wish this book had was an extra page to put my project list on and the monthly cleaning list.

However, I have found a way to do this without the extra page. I just turn over my monthly menu plan and put them on the back.

Notice that I get to stroke those off as well.

Next up on my organization for a simpler life will be an inventory of the chest freezer as well as a tidy up of the mess it has become. That is one of my extra cleaning tasks for this month.

These lists and bits of organizing keeps me moving towards a life that gives me time to enjoy sitting on the deck, working on those things I love like knitting, sewing and reading. It also gives me the time and inclination to do more decluttering so that my monthly cleaning becomes easier to handle.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

  2. Dang, you're amazing. When I was raising my boys, and had my daycare, I was very organized. Now, I am to a point but definitely not like I used to be.

  3. I make a daily to do list too and check things off as I get them done. It sure makes it easier to keep on top of things.

  4. I have so many notebooks, journal type, that people have given me for gifts. I use these for my life admin lists- thevpretty covers feel motivsting. I too am going for simple and necessary and trying to leave chaos behind. I enjoy simple neals that taste delicious, and like you leftovers in the freezer ate a great find on nights I just don't want to cook.

  5. You need to be organized to get so much accomplished! I tend to be more haphazard which explains why I'm less likely to get things done in good time.

  6. The RC pretty much always cooks with 'planned-overs' in mind. We often eat the same thing for a couple days and then the rest gets packaged up into the freezer. He usually has two or three different things on the go at one time - we'll eat one and then have another one the next night so we don't get bored.

  7. I love crossing things off lists, it's so satisfying. It's good that life is getting easier for you, with more time to do the things you enjoy. That's how it should be.

  8. I love lists Jackie - they actually make me think I am achieving something - especially when you can cross it off on the list. Sometimes I make weekly lists, other times daily ones. For an empty the fridge meal, a stew is a good option as you can use up lots of veggies that might be a bit older in a stew. Have a lovely weekend Jackie. xx
