Saturday Roundup

Just a quick roundup of what has been happening on the Phillips homestead.

Baking has continued and I will probably so some more later. Taking a break so as to get a few other projects done over the next week.

I did manage to get the two toques finished for the gift baskets that we will give Kurt and Kris.

I have now started the matching mitts. Still few things left to fill the baskets with, and those will get done this coming week after decorating the house. Not that I do that much, but I do need to make it a bit more festive around here.

I also finished the knitted blanket for one of Kurt's friends. I will post a picture of that later on.

I even found yarn to start the next one. Just shows how much yarn I have available for use in this house.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Simpler Living

In my quest for simplicity, I am spending more time decluttering and using up items that have been around for awhile. Not only is this helping me downsize and move towards a life that enjoys the stop and smell the flowers mindset.

It is leading me to realize we all have way too much stuff surrounding us. This from someone that is surrounded by craft supplies, appliances, and other such items.

This week I have removed the old sound system from my television set. Amazingly it left spaces open to move the plants I am overwintering inside into and I still have extra space. The sound system quit working this year so will be put into the electronic disposal area.

I have been kind of downsizing my yarn stash as well. Nothing new has been added and lots is getting used up in various projects.

As far as appliances are concerned I do use all of them and plan on using them more often as the price of electricity goes up. Plugging into 110 is much less expensive than using the oven at 220.

There are certain items I hope to send home with our sons at Christmas. Thinking the wine cooler that we never use could go home with Kurt, and the small Christmas tree that we have now replaced with a larger one with Kris. We shall see what they say. If neither is wanted we will list them on one of the Garage Sale sites and see what happens.

While I would love to get rid of our TV package, until Harvey gets a television that allows streaming of something other than Netflix or YouTube that is not a feasible alternative. He loves his sports so we will spend the money to allow him to be able to watch those. Well at least until I can convince him to do something else.

Slowly but surely I am heading towards a life that is lived slowly and intentionally.

My mouse seems to have quit working so I guess it is time to go and set the table, visit you all and make supper.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Thrifty and Frugal Thursday

                                                  Thrifty and Frugal

I probably don't have my title in the center of the page, Blogger for some reason wouldn't let me do that.

It has been a pretty frugal, thrifty and quiet week around the Phillips homestead. Mind you snow, blowing snow and cold have kept me in and busy most days this week. So what frugal and thrifty things have I been up to.

1.  All meals at home and I even had a clear out the fridge night for our supper one day this week. Nothing wasted at all, not even a spoonful.

2.  Found more yarn that I plan on using for another knitted blanket that Kurt can give to another person who has supported him against those that wish him harm. Yarn leaving my stash is always a good thing. It is not frugal or thrifty to leave it sitting unused.

3.  Keeping busy making my own treats for the upcoming Christmas Season.

4.  Using the tinkle cloths and finding that since Monday we have only used 1 roll of toilet paper, so the savings are getting even greater since I made more from scraps in my stash.

5.  Harvey has repaired my donkey and cart that I use out front for flowers. He used bits and bobs that he had available in his workshop.

6.  Turned a collar on one of Harv's shirts.

7.  Only used the vehicle twice this week, should only have been once but I forgot to order a prescription on the day I used the vehicle.

I also want to wish all my readers in the U.S. a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Last Midweek of the Month

Oh dear here it is the final Wednesday of the month and I am not that close to finishing all my projects this month. Three days left now and I will try my best to get most of them done and dusted.

Will I be ready for Christmas???? Sure hope so. I have toques and mitts yet to knit, the recipe cards to do, more baking, and all the regular household tasks. Oh drat, I also have the ornaments to make as the little gifties for those that visit on Christmas Day to take home.

It will surely be a rush to get things done so that I can have a bit of a rest before Kurt and Kris arrive home. I want to rest and enjoy their visit (well Christmas dinner will be a bit of a non rest kind of thing, but they both do help). I have lots of tidying I have to do in order to have the house company ready for when a portion of Harvey's family arrives as well.

From now on there will be no putting off until the next day. My lists must be completed each and every day. Pretty sure that will take some of the pressure off and my days run smoother.

This morning Harvey and I went to the last furniture store here in my city, and looked at dining room tables... Man those have really gone up in price and don't even have a hutch going with them. We did find something on sale and are thinking about it. The company that makes them will make the table and chairs in the wood and colours we want. They are custom made and on sale right now, which considering the cost is amazing. I did find colours that will match our hutch and Harvey has promised to do a tiny bit of repair work on it. The table/chairs on the other hand are not something we can repair (the finish is getting tacky and the chairs have been sort of destroyed by our cat) so getting something new is pretty necessary right now.

Changing the menu plans once again. There was lots leftover in the fridge so supper is going to be "clean out the fridge" and I made a tossed salad to go along with the meal.

I plan on answering some questions on Friday.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Tuesday Tidbits and Stuff

The temperature fell drastically overnight, but seems to have warmed up some. The predictions have changed and our really cold weather will hit this weekend. Glad to have a nice warm home to curl up in, though I worry about those who are homeless these are killing temperatures.

Not much happening today. I did get a few things done, no baking/candy making as of yet, but will hopefully get something done after supper. My cabbage bread/bun day will be on Friday so I will need to remember to get the ingredients out and thawing overnight.

I did work the yarn ends into the blanket and that has been folded and put away. Started on the first pair of mitts. I am using a chunky yarn so have had to change the stitch numbers a bit or they would be way too large for anyone. I hope to have enough to do the two pairs of mitts and will use a worsted weight to make the toques. Slowly but surely those baskets are filling up.

Managed to take down most of the old sound system by myself. Tomorrow when we go out to look at dining room tables and chairs we will drop it at the electrical drop off at our nearest Sarcan. There is still one piece left to remove, but I need help with that. I did undo one cord from the TV that I shouldn't have, but got that found and the TV back up and running. A bit scary there for awhile until I figured out what I did wrong.

Cleaned the bookcase beside the desk, stripped the bedding and put on fresh, swept the floors, folded the clothes from the lines downstairs, and a few other small things to keep the house running smoothly. I hope to just have very basic cleaning once the sons are home and the guests arrive Christmas day.

Plans are afoot to put up the basement tree this Sunday. I will then know how many ornaments are available for this new tree and if I will need to fashion some more.

Off to get the casserole in the oven and then visit with all of you.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Menu Monday

The Christmas rush is on now. Lots of little things that need to be done, so I am thankful that we have lots of leftovers and ready meals.

Monday

Leftover Baked Spaghetti, Garlic Bread, and the leftover salad.

Tuesday

Pulling a ready made Ham Casserole from the fridge. I will make a salad to go along with it.

Wednesday

Leftover chicken from Sunday warmed up and served on thick slices of bread with gravy. I will make peas and carrots to go with.

Thursday

Fridge Smorg, meaning anything leftover from Tuesday and Wednesday. Serving with leftover salad.

Friday

Lazy Perogies (I have some lasagna noodles that need using). Serving with some coleslaw.

Saturday

Hamburgers and all the fixings.

Sunday

Sausage casserole. There is lots of veggies in this so I won't have to make a side or two.

The meals I will need to make are quick so I can spend time finishing up other things.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Weekly Roundup

This week most of my progress has been getting some Christmas baking done, though I did take one day off to work on the knitted blanket (almost done).

So what did I manage to get done towards Christmas treats.

Peanut Butter Marshmallow Bars was the first item on the list. I even saved a few for Harvey and I do have for dessert.

I also made Chocolate Coconut drops.

Next up on the list was....

My pumpkin pies for Christmas dinner.

A day later I made Whipped Shortbread Cookies as well as....

This is what my Mom always called English Shortbread.

Today I made my first batch of Cinnamon Buns. I will make another batch tomorrow hopefully.

These make a lovely, if rather unhealthy breakfast when we are in a hurry over the holidays.

More baking will take place next week. I need to make my Almond Bark, Peanut Brittle, Christmas Crack (that is also called Toffee Surprise), and I think some other candy like Caramels, and perhaps Chocolate Covered Mints. Cookies such as Ginger Crinkles, and Chocolate Chip will be made as well.

I am hoping to be done all baking by the end of next week, or perhaps just a couple of days into December.

I still have a few quick gifts to make for the baskets, and another knitted blanket to start.

So that's my weekly projects done.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

It has started to snow finally so I will be stuck (which I really rather prefer in the winter) at home and can start things as soon as I finish the household tasks for the next few days.

Simple Living, Simplifying My Life

I often wonder how and why it takes so long to get to simple living. It seems like I have been working towards this for a number of years.

I am hoping that each year I get just a bit closer to my goal. Pretty sure the more I declutter and get back to living the way my ancestors did is doing just that. I don't mean hitting my clothes on rocks by the river, but I do mean growing more of my own food, finding ways to make my own cleaning products, and just relying a bit less on what advertising tells me I need.

Decluttering makes space for canning, dehydrating, storing garden produce and in my mind peace. This is probably one reason I am using my Kobo more than heading out and purchasing reading material. I know I could use the library, but I love owning the book I am reading. My husband often says that I am the only person he knows that will re-read a book numerous times.

With prices on the rise once again, and the scare of tariffs across the world getting ever closer, one does need to rethink what one purchases. A person needs to make good choices when shopping and really plan ahead.

Life is full of choices and I hope all of us make the right choices in the coming months.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Thrifty and Frugal Thursdays

 Thrifty and Frugal

A cooler day today, one that was perfect to stay in and do a bit of baking or candy making. Also a great day to do a bit of extra cleaning (not done yet, but I am going to do that very soon).

There have been a few thrifty and frugal happenings here on the old homestead.

I fixed the hem on a couple of pairs of my pants (trousers for you readers across the pond).

Baked 4 loaves of bread.

Using up all leftovers in the fridge for lunches or suppers.

Saved the elastics and twist ties from various packages.

No spending on 5 days this past week.

Put $70.00 in the savings envelope. I need to build this up once again in order to be able to purchase craft supplies in the new year.

Hung two loads of clothing on the lines downstairs.

Drinking lots of water (decided I needed to do this for my own health).

Only used the vehicle once this week when I took it in for an oil change and a tire swap.

Walking in the house for daily exercise.

Cutting open tubes to get the last bit of toothpaste or lotion.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Midweek

Today was a baking day, or rather a stay in and get some baking and some stovetop Christmas things completed. Bread was baked, some marshmallow squares made and I am still waiting for the pumpkin puree to thaw so I can make two pies for our Christmas meals.

Since tomorrow is supposed to be very cold, staying home and getting more baking prepared for Christmas. Hopefully I remember to take pictures. There are not a great many eggs in the house so tomorrow will be a no using eggs baking day. Whipped shortbread cookies, a recipe of what is called English Shortbread, and some Chocolate Drops. Must remember to get the butter out to soften overnight.

Knitting will continue and I am very hopeful that this blanket will be finished before the end of the month. Then I will start another as well as toques and mittens for Kurt and Kris. I think I will start the ornaments for the family that will be visiting at Christmas as well. I should be able to get the first step done easily tomorrow between baking/cooking sprees. It really is getting down to the knitty gritty, must be prepared for Christmas. Right now I feel very unprepared.

Using another batch cooked item tonight. I am making spaghetti and meat sauce. Warming up the spaghetti sauce, getting the water to the point where I can add the pasta, and the salad is made and in the fridge. A very easy meal.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Tuesday Tidbits and Stuff

I am surprised that I have managed to get all my daily tasks done already as well as a few extra cleaning/decluttering tasks as well. I have even knit a bit while waiting for my vehicle to have its oil change and tire swap.

It is snowing, blowing and icy out so I am certainly glad that the winter tires are now on the SUV. The drive home from the dealer while not relaxing was much less white knuckled than the drive to the dealership.

Nesting will be beginning very soon. When winter draws in I seem to be happiest staying close to home and getting on with projects, baking and cooking. Mostly a homebody here and am quite content to be so.

Once the snow stops a bit (well that will not happen until late tonight or early tomorrow morning) we will head out and do a bit of shoveling. This is heavy, wet snow so it will be fun to move.

Looking online I have found a place that I can purchase more batting for the potato bags. Thoughts are running through my head that I could perhaps make some and sell them online. Many other people do not too badly selling their craft items. These would not be overly costly to make or for people to purchase. Just something to be considered. I might even try some other small crafts and see how they go.

Since I found the batting I am going to see if I can find the embroidery thread for my machine. To my dismay I found out that Fabricland no longer carried it. While there is lots in the case, there are a few colours that will need replacing very soon. Amazon is a big rabbit hole where one could disappear for days and spend oodles of cash without leaving the comfort of your home.

Everybody have a wonderful afternoon or evening.

God bless.

Menu Monday

Strange as it seems, I had to redo this weeks menus once again. There is reason behind my madness, it just seems as if I can not for the life of me only cook for two people. So there are lots of leftovers, and probably more before the week is over. I may have to figure out a biweekly making of a menu... Yet I would probably still be changing things around.

Monday

I am using some fake crab and making a quiche. Doing that will give us two more meals, which of course will need eating later this week. I will probably have the leftovers for supper on Thursday and forgo the soup and sandwiches. Serving it both times with a salad. Tonight we will finish off the kale salad and I will be making a tossed salad on Wednesday so will have that again on Thursday.

Tuesday

There is leftover taco meat, so I will be making Nachos for supper using that up as well as the remainder of the toppings I cut up for our soft tacos.

Wednesday

I pulled a container of meaty spaghetti sauce out of the freezer so it will be spaghetti with meat sauce and a tossed salad. This is one of the planned meals for the week.

Thursday

The last of the quiche and the remains of the tossed salad.

Friday

Back to what I planned, I will be making a salmon casserole and will make corn as the side. There are already peas in the casserole as well as mushrooms.

Saturday

Baked spaghetti, and a side of coleslaw.

Sunday

The roast chicken that I was going to make a few weeks ago. The bones will be set aside for bone broth. Serving this with roasted potatoes, and the remains of the coleslaw.

Breakfasts will be toast, oatmeal or yogurt. I am pretty much the only breakfast eater in the house. Lunches will be any leftovers, and the usual sandwiches.

I made a spice cake which will be served for dessert. Not sure if I will ice it or make the caramel sauce that my Mom always put on her spice cakes.

Off to get started folding clothes and then preparing the quiche. Then to visit all of you while the quiche is cooking.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

I did get out for a bit of a walk today, the ice had mostly melted on our roads due to the sunshine. This isn't going to last too long as snow and clouds will be arriving again tonight and for many days next week. Of course it will be just warm enough for rain to fall first. Things are going to be slushy and icy for the rest of the winter.

Right now I am pretty sure that I have managed to get everything I need on this computer. I do have an error coming up with my "vault", it says I can't use the nomenclature that Kris set up. Hopefully I can figure out " to fix it.... Might need to wait until Kris gets home. However this does mean nothing is being saved to "the cloud" and I just may have to figure this out myself.

Today is another day of decluttering and downsizing. This time it is mostly my clothing. I have one more drawer that I need to declutter today. Most clothing will be donated, but if there are a few items I can cut down into usable fabric I will stack those in my sewing/craft room to do a bit later.

This next week I hope to get a good start on the remainders of my projects for this month. I won't be able to do the Christmas cards this year as our postal carrier is on strike. This will mean phone calls or a card on Facebook.

Harvey will be watching the Grey Cup tonight, but as he really does not care if he misses some of the game supper will be upstairs. It will be tacos so if he decides he needs to watch the game, well this is easily carried to his man cave once made up.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Saturday Roundup

It has been snowing and raining here for most of the day. This means I have managed to get some decluttering done, organized the folders containing various recipes and crafts. I actually got everything into one folder and lots of double recipes were tossed. The crafty things were put into plastic sleeves and put in a binder.

Also, while going through the books on the bookcase to declutter it a bit more, I found the book that I was listing UFP's in. Must at some point figure out if I actually completed any of them and add some new ones that are lying around the house.

Promised you all some pictures of what I have been up to this past week as far as projects are concerned. I will be starting the list from last Wednesday as I did not do a Round-up post last week.

First off I finished sewing the knit Christmas dress.

I still have to make a belt for this and I think it might just be an I-cord type to use up some sparkly yarn I have.

I finished the knitted blanket for one of Kurt's good friends (another is on my needles right now), the patchwork item beside is going to be used to make a bag front. Got to get using up those 4" squares in something other than a quilt.

These are the microwavable bags for baked potatoes. One each for Kurt and Kris, and I think two for us. I loved making these and I think I will make some more for the silent auction in a year or two.

These are the hot pads I made for us. The ones I made for Kurt and Kris are identical material but much larger so as to protect their tables or countertops.

I also got three casseroles out of the leftover bags of ham in the fridge freezer.

All in all a pretty good week of finishes. Hopefully there will be a few more for next week.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Simple Living

Right now my simple living is decluttering, and using things up in the stashes. I think the less I have to worry about the simpler my life will be.

So today I went through the bookcase in the living room and started clearing things out or putting items where they really belong. I think I will probably continue with this tomorrow and then move on to my closet and drawers. I really do have lots of clothes, many of which are pretty worn or I never wear anymore. Time to simplify my wardrobe, I keep thinking how wonderful it will be when I can just keep all my clothing in the closet, instead of moving it every two seasons.

I actually found the book that I used to write down my UFP's in and I am considering doing that once again. I need a record of what I need finished and the ability to cross the finished projects off or I just forget all about them. This will simplify most project finishes for me.

Now that the weather is once again changing I really feel like drawing in and getting even more ready for the winter. There are still things that need doing around here to make our home cozy for the winter season. I would love some new heavier curtains in a few of our windows to block out the cold. I will look at the Salvation Army and the other secondhand store we have in the city.

I just want to stay home, do my exercise indoors, and wrap up in a shawl or nice warm lap blanket. This is going to be an interesting winter as I really do not want to go anywhere.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Thrifty And Frugal Thursday

Thrifty and Frugal

Another week has gone by and we are halfway through the month already.

So what thrifty and frugal things have I been up to this week?

I managed to go two days beyond my last shopping trip which was awesome. Even got lots of items on sale (though the sale price now seems to be even higher than the old regular price).

Continued walking for free exercise.

Managed to get this new laptop at the "Black Friday" cost, plus another deduction of $140.00.

Hung more clothing on the lines downstairs.

Used up the bits and bobs of leftover roasts I had bagged and in the fridge freezer making casseroles. I hope to do that more often each month.

Saved the plastic bags that the produce comes in to use for scooping kitty litter when Kris brings Eiko to visit.

Fixed a seam on a pair of Harvey's pajamas.

Bought on sale produce and got some great deals, we should be able to have salads for a good long time.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Tuesday Tidbits and Stuff

Today I downloaded my Kobo ereader app onto this new laptop. Tomorrow it will be hopefully the printer. Slowly, slowly and I will get it done without losing my mind and getting frustrated.

Our postal system has given a 72 hour strike notice. Just before Christmas when all the cards need to be out and winging their way to various provinces, states and countries. This is not going to be fun at all.

I have finished a few projects over the last little bit and will post pictures on my roundup post on Saturday. Pictures do need to be taken, and a couple need to be finished up. Looking forward to putting the sewing machine away and getting the loom warped and ready to go for a couple of weeks. I have a couple of very quick weaving plans in mind. Longer ones will have to wait until the Christmas season is over.

Casserole cooking happened today. I have three ham and rice casseroles made, and cooling. I will be working on the chicken ones next. Probably a big one for tonight's supper and a meal later this week, as well as a smaller one that we can have on a busy evening.

Looking ahead to the weather coming up we are being told we get the white stuff on Friday, then some rain and later a bit of sun but colder. I am surprised that winter has held off for this long. Not looking forward to what is coming, yet getting prepared and ready for the probable blizzards that will be happening. I am just so glad that we are both retired and have no place we really need to be.

Cute story. On our way to Kris's place we noticed a house for sale on his block, just down a bit from his. It looks well looked after and when we pointed it out to Kris on our way back from computer/laptop shopping, he said it had been completely redone inside and outside. He also said it could be perfect for us (Laughingly I had said this to Harvey as we passed it on our way to visit and Harvey said it was too close to Kris and perhaps Kris wouldn't like that). When I mentioned how close we would be, Kris said " I will just turn off the lights and lock the doors." I think he forgot that I have keys. LOL

I need to get the second set of casseroles ready for the oven, so I need to go. I will visit you all a bit later.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Menu Monday

Isn't this a surprise. I thought I would get my blog post up early today. Actually I feel like it is going to be a very busy day and I didn't want to forget, which is liable to happen. There will be a few changes as we were not back home when I figured we should have been.

Monday

Leftover Chicken (or it could be turkey) made into a casserole. No salad fixings so I may just make a side veggie, or stick more veggies in the casserole.

Tuesday

Soup and Sandwiches. I plan on using up the Butternut squash I have had sitting on the counter for awhile. It should also make almost enough for another meal I hope. I may even make some extra casseroles for the freezer using up bags of leftover roasts, chicken, and ham in the fridge freezer.

Wednesday

Leftovers from Sunday (beef casserole)

Thursday

Leftovers from Monday.

Friday

Red Lentil Curry over rice.

Saturday

Pulling the taco meat and flat breads from the freezer. We will have soft tacos. I will have been shopping so there will be fresh produce to use with the tacos.

Sunday

Roast Pork, roasted potatoes, and roasted carrots.

Lunches will be leftovers that are put aside, or sandwiches. I am the only one that eats breakfast and so that will be yogurt, toast and oatmeal now that it is getting chilly out.

Everybody have a wonderful day.

God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

We are home now and both very tired. I was going to download some of the things that couldn't be transferred to this laptop, but I think I might just wait until I am less likely to make an error. I will however probably begin to add in last months budget items.

I am going to have to get used to visiting the cloud for pictures and such.... Now that is something that is confusing to me. Kris says to just pretend it is my second computer. Hmmmm, not sure I will ever get used to it at all as it seems some things did not get downloaded onto this laptop from the old. I just might be pulling my hair out eventually.

I also need to get used to a smaller keyboard (not as small as the phone) and a smaller screen. What sold me on this Lenovo was the card reader. I will also be putting my old USB Hub to work (or at least I hope to do so. I am going to see if it will work with my mouse first and then move on from there. I also like the sound quality and the fact that I can plug in my phone and download the pictures straight from there. It has a plug in for that as well.

Harvey says he wants to get me a larger monitor to plug in the HDMI slot as well. Not too sure if that will keep me from gazing at the smaller screen while typing.

These are all first world problems and I am sure I am up to the task of learning all that I can about this machine and how to get it to do exactly what I want.

Got to go and get supper started, but I hope to make a visit to each of you tonight.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Learning Curve Time

Hello everyone! I finally have my new laptop, it is a bit smaller than the old one, the keyboard is slightly set up a bit differently but at least I can talk to all of you again without making numerous spelling errors.

Kris has the recovery going on the old laptop and both of us are hopeful that he will be able to transfer things over to this new one.

I have lots of apps to try and get running on this machine. Mainly banking, my HomeScan app, and a couple of others that I use a great deal.

Kris is going to set me up on the "cloud" so hopefully this mess will not happen again.

We are staying here an extra day so that Harvey and Kris can bond watching their beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders play tomorrow. That is kind of what I hoped would happen. I will do some cleaning around Kris's home as a repayment for all his work in trying to get me up and running once again.

Back to normal (hopefully) posts soon.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Saturday Roundup

Sorry I haven't  been posting more, or visiting all of you as much as I should be. Just using the phone is a bit of a pain, that takes me twice as long to get things done.

It has been a relatively quiet week. Mostly just working around the house, realizing that next month I will need to frugal my heart out, and use what I have for meals and crafts for Christmas. What with the water heater quiting, and the necessary tires for Harv's  truck to make it safe to drive and an over abundance of grocery purchases due to the holiday, we were over budget by a great deal.

This month we have to pay the house insurance and that went up almost $200.00. Guess we are paying for those that had damage in that last hail storm. I do know that there was hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage here. We had none though.

I did my batch cooking today and I can see why people like it. Today was just meals using ground beef, next week I will spend a day making soups and later on some casseroles using up bags of leftovers in the fridge freezer. I am hoping to cut back on cooking times and the use of the big oven. Most of what I made can be warmed up on the stove top or the toaster oven.

So, what did I make today?

I made 3 containers of meaty spaghetti sauce, a container of taco meat, 3 trays of stuffed pasta shells, 2 meatloaves, 3 trays of mushroom meatballs, and 3 containers of chili as well as enough for our supper tonight.

A great start on filling the freezer for days that I don't  want to spend all afternoon cooking.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.
