Midweek

Life throws people curve balls and we had one of those today.

Harvey's brother Bradley decided to drop in and pay us a visit. A visit that lasted almost 4 hours, so it was a good thing I managed to get most of the household tasks done early this morning. I also had to get away from his "Oh poor me litany." He is the baby of the family and was pretty much spoiled rotten by his mother and some other family members. Bradley lost his dog a few months back due to cancer.... and he is not trying to move on at all.

Then he has been unable to work (or at least that is what he puts forth and is undergoing WCB tasks, like physio and classes. He is now applying for jobs pretty much all over Canada and not finding anything. I wanted to yell, you are 63 do you really think someone will hire you now since retirement age is only a couple of years away.

Now he is trying to sell the two houses he owns and says he can live off that for awhile. Does that sound as if he is serious about getting a job. Not to me.

I finally went to pick up the mail and he was still here when I got back. I am wondering if he was wanting us to invite him for supper....

Enough rant, it is just I am upset that I couldn't knit or work on any project while he was here.

I was asked a question by Maebeme about my salves and lotions. Sometimes the leaves or flowers are fresh, but most times they need to be dried  Most recipes say you need to infuse a carrier oil for 4 to 6 weeks. That is strained and then cosmetic grade wax pellets are melted with the oil. Some have added shea butter, and others have a few drops of tea tree oil, or Vitamin E oil. Then the resulting mixture is poured into small jars for usage.

Lotions are a bit different and one needs to beat or whip the concoction to the right consistency.

Carrier oils are usually olive oil, grapeseed oil, liquid coconut oil and sunflower oil. All oils that can be used on ones face or body.

Supper is started, except I have to add a few things to the Greek salad before serving.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

More of a Rant Than a Roundup

I think I have been hurt by family members for the last time. I have one sister-in-law that never, ever reads what I post. Be it on my own Face Book page or the family page and then gives me crap for not letting her know. It is almost like she ignores me completely as I notice her replying to others in the family.

Then today I get a text message from one of Harvey's brothers re his youngest son's wedding. It seems that others have know about this since the beginning of the year. Not us though and we have already made plans starting the day after the wedding. They could have let us know as they did others in the family, but more or less chose not to. We are not changing our plans, but I know that this will cause some in his family to talk about us not caring enough about family.

In my books it is more about them not caring about us enough to say, "Hey perhaps you would like to make your booking a bit later as "X" is getting married around then.

This is Harvey's family and I should be used to this by now, but of course am not. Just done.

Sorry for that rant.... The rest of my day has been wonderful. The sun is shining, the temperature in the city just great (though it is supposed to drop and snow again very soon), and I am feeling much better, just a bit tired.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Argggg, Noooo

Well, I know what I will be busy with over the next few days. I will be replacing my blog list. For some reason only Blogger knows when I removed on no longer functional blog from my sidebar, the whole list disappeared.

Please forgive me if I don't visit you for awhile as I know from previous experience that this replacement always takes me some time to accomplish.

I will see what I can accomplish over the next few days, but if you haven't had a comment from me please leave me a comment so I can get you back.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Mid Week And All Is Quiet....Well Maybe

Just a tiny bit of a rant here.

We have those in the family that are very anti-mask, anti social distancing, pretty much anti everything that both the federal and provincial governments do to try and combat this virus.

Now, yes, people are entitled to their own opinions but I do draw the line when these same people start calling me low IQ, brainwashed, communist (do they even know what communism is I sometimes wonder), call me a rat, say MSN is untruthful (until MSN says something they agree with....wonder if they understand the word hypocrisy) or post picture of people glued to their smart phones (this from one person who does in fact seem to be glued to their smart phone) and of course pushing medical knowledge from people who are not doctors or nurses or any kind of front line worker.

I really want to slap them upside the head and tell them to grow up. Yet I keep my cool, post upbeat things on Facebook and try to ignore the ignorance of some people. After all family is more important than some of the families ignorance. The person who posts the most upsetting and illogical items actually believes we are going to be invaded by aliens from outer space sometime in the next year. Sighs...... to think she is family.

By the way I do not have a low IQ. I graduated from university with a degree in Science. A double major to be exact in Biochemistry and Microbiology with minors in English Lit and Chemistry.

We did get some snow last night, and it has been snowing for most of today. I think we will have a white Christmas after all. Temperature wise it is supposed to be fairly chilly.

Kris will be home tomorrow. He is going to leave at first light, I was glad he made that decision because driving at night on our winter roads is not always a great idea.

Still working on the hand quilting. This is not going to be finished any time soon. Still I am liking how it is turning out. The next finished quilt sandwich is going to be machine quilted though.

Off to get supper on the table. I will visit you all a bit later.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.
