So here is the update for this month. Even with fewer goals I was unable to get them all completed.
1. Scan Pictures. I did this all month and while not completely finished (wedding albums and the pictures in frames and on walls still left) I can definitely see an end in sight.
2. Sew the green table cloth for the school. Done.
3. Cross stitch the dragon picture. Not done as of yet.
4. Make Silent Auction Items. Done.
5. Go back and complete some old goals. Not done.
Still I think progress has been made.
My goals for the upcoming month are:
1. Copy and declutter 2 binders of recipes.
2. Go back and complete some goals from previous months.
3. Change my wardrobe over from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer.
4. Plant flowers and the veggie garden.
5. Spray some pots with the Glow In The Dark Paint.
6. Finish the scanning of pictures.
Some of these goals will only take a short time, others longer.
My total for Project Declutter so far this year is 502. I still have a few more areas to declutter so hopefully this total will keep rising. Still don't know if I will reach the 1000 items mark, but I did manage to reach my goal of 500. Love it!!!
Little bits of green are showing up in my flower beds.
Tulips getting ready to bloom.
Daylilies and Asiatic Lilies poking up in the perennial bed.
Another small flower bed started. More lilies and glads planted here.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Ahhh, Weather!!!
Today was simply beautiful out. The sun shone, the temperatures rose, and Harvey and I spent much of the day outside tidying the yard and moving flowers around (planted some new bulbs as well).
Things are definitely looking up, and even if we get rain tomorrow, well it is needed.
Kurt phoned this afternoon and he sounds much better. He did mention that he has been living in his pajamas though. I was informed he was going to try and dress himself Friday and if unable to do so it looks like I will be heading up there to give him a hand with buttons. There is absolutely no way he will take another week off work.
Kurt did inform us of his improved pain situation by saying that if he was given the option of amputation over the surgery he would take the surgery. A few days ago his answer was much different.
Slowly but surely working on my goals for the month. I will post an update tomorrow, as well as an update on the declutter challenge and my new goals for May. Hopefully some pictures of the newly improved garden area as well.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Thrifty Tuesdays
I have spent most of the day trying to get as much done as is possible. If Kurt phones on Friday and says he needs my help I want to be able to just get up and go on Saturday morning.
However, I have run into one problem. Most of the gas stations on the way are Self Serve..... I have never pumped my own gas. In fact I have a problem getting the gas cap off. I think Harvey is going to have to give me a few lessons on how to do so.
I took down some of the vinyl mac tac from the shelves in the kitchen and used up the last of the press on vinyl tiles. I will need to buy about 9 more tiles, but boy does it make a difference!! Things look so much cleaner.
I also worked on the Silent Auction items. Sewed them up tonight and as I still have a few days grabbed some more yarn to make one more item.
Walking was perhaps one of the thriftiest things I did today. I am up to 20 blocks and aiming to go higher yet. I don't know how many steps that is.... I get out of step and miscount every time.
Harvey has been busy in the yard. He is getting very good at using items he already has. The flower gardens are going to be marvelous and I should have lots of cut flowers this year to brighten the house.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Menu Monday
Good morning everyone. Here it is the beginning of another week, and from the looks of the roads outside we have entered spring. Great big water puddles, which of course does not mean a great deal of rain, but are welcome all the same.
Monday
I fell asleep in my chair on Saturday and so Harvey decided to give me a rest and went out and bought us something to eat. So today will be the meal I had planned for that night. Soup and sandwiches.
Tuesday
Leftover Beef Roast. I am thinking I have the makings for a fairly decent stir fry in the fridge or perhaps another tasty casserole.
Wednesday
Time to use up a package of the frozen cabbage rolls. Carrots sound like a nice side and they need to be used up as well.
Thursday
Stew and dumplings.
Friday (the beginning of a new month)
Fish and chips along with a salad. There are still a couple of packages of Harvs catch in the freezer and they need using before we start on the cod.
Saturday
Think this will be a clean out the fridge night. Should have lots of leftovers to choose from.
Sunday
Time for some special chicken we bought awhile back. Hopefully nice enough to BBQ it. Planning on serving it with salad and tin foil potatoes.
As is usual in this household lunches will be sandwiches and whatever leftovers are not ear marked for another dinner.
Everybody have a wonderful day.
God bless.

Sunday Ramblings
Today is World Day of Prayer for Vocations and I have done nothing but think about the vocations people hold in the world.
The ones I am most thankful for today are those that hold the vocations of healing. Kurt is home from his surgery now and from what he tells us it was a success. The nurses, doctors and surgeons from beginning to end were wonderful, even though Kurt is in a great deal of pain he is happy with what they accomplished and how quickly the whole thing was handled.
Vocations are more than just the priesthood, or becoming a sister or brother. Each of us is called to our own vocation being it married life, single life, motherhood, fatherhood or adoption. We are all called and need to answer whatever call God extends to us.
I have thought so for a long time, but having a priest say we are all called to discipleship just makes it all that much clearer. We all need to walk the walk if we talk the talk. Something that is not always done by members of a church congregation. It does not matter what faith one belongs to, this is something that occurs in all of them.
I have made a step towards this, this past week. I am no longer a member of our parish council, my term ended in March. A mistake was made by our parish council chairperson in that she emailed me the minutes of the last meeting (held just this past week). I deleted the message and emailed her back saying that what occurred at a meeting was no longer my business. I do not want to know what is discussed as there is so much negative gossip in the parish and the less I know the better. From now on I plan on walk the walk and talk the talk, this is my vocation and a sign of true discipleship (at least for now).
Please practice your vocation to the best of your ability. We need you all more than ever.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Playing the Waiting Game
Kurt had a call a couple of days ago, as many of you already know, to be in Calgary by 7 am this morning for surgery on his ruptured bicep.
He phoned at around 3:30 today and still had not made it into the operating room!!! We haven't heard anything since, so both Harvey and I are hoping the surgery is done.
The phone just rang. Back in a moment or two.
Just got off the phone and the surgery is over. They are keeping him overnight so he sent his friend home and the friend will come back and get Kurt tomorrow. Nice to finally hear his voice even though it was hoarse and he was a bit out of it. He is also realizing that perhaps he should in fact take some time off of work. Seems he can't really move his arm well so getting dressed could present a problem.
Since the day has been spent waiting for phone calls I decided to play with our newest purchase.
Yep, we bought a Food Saver. Right now I am not too sure if this was a good buy or not, it is going to take some playing around with before I manage to get it working to my satisfaction.
I did package up the chicken breasts though.
Four packages residing in the freezer.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Friday Frugalities
It has been a fairly frugal week.
I thought that perhaps this week I would try just listing the frugal things I managed to do this week.
1. Used Neilson Home Scan to gain a few more points for items bought. Also took part in one of their surveys this week.
2. Used leftovers as much a possible to fashion new and interesting meals. Then any leftovers were stored and eaten for another meal.
3. Did the usual frugal laundry method again this week.
4. Went for a walk every day. This is good exercise and since it is free was a very frugal way of getting exercise each day.
5. Using up craft supplies from my rather very large stock of said supplies.
6. Phoning long distance when my phone package makes it free to do so. When not free I text messaged according to my mobility plan.
7. Used up one of the samples of dental floss from the dentist.
8. Packed my lunch when I worked one day this week.
I am sure there are many more, but this is what I can remember.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
