Midweek Ramblings

I have a feeling that this month is going to whiz right by. I have so much to accomplish and I know there is not enough month to get it all done.

I thought for a change I would share my project goals for the month with you once again. It has been awhile since I did so.

So here goes,

1.  Weave the rug for Kris.

2.  Embroider the last of the blocks for a quilt.

3.  Sew the totes for the Silent Auction.

4.  Make the ornaments for the Silent Auction.

5.  Knit mittens.

6.  Cut the buttons off of the shirts Harvey got rid of that are not decent enough to donate.

7.  Separate the usable fabric from those shirts.

Things are taking a bit longer than I thought they would so I am slightly worried that not all will be done this month. I will however try my best to get most done.

Tomorrow we will go and pay off the trip, and I will go shopping. This means that not as much will be accomplished around the house other than the usual household tasks. I have been lucky enough to find large enough bits and bobs to make the smallest size mitts however and that is helping me to use things up nicely. Slowly but surely things are being cleared out of my stashes and that is an excellent thing. No matter how long things take I will get my stashes down to something easily handled.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Saturday Roundup

Nothing really finished in the project department, however a few non-project items were checked off the list.

The tree and all decor is down and I pulled out my cutting/sewing table and put it up in the living room. I did get the two patterns I want to make cut out. Next will be doing the markings and then I get to sew.

I made frozen fries yesterday for the freezer, and have found a recipe to make some hash browns that I will try out. I want to get those done this week.

Made my grocery list for this biweekly shopping trip and figured out what I was going to spend my $10.00 pantry stock up on. I plan on getting a canned ham and some packages of spaghetti. I should be also able to pick up an extra bottle of salad dressing. Hopefully I will be able to start making my own dressings very soon. I just need to wash out the bottles once they are empty.

We managed to clear most leftovers out of the fridge, and I am working on clearing out the fridge freezer. Then I need to work on using those items up in the chest and upright freezer that need using. I am also thinking it is time to defrost those same freezers while I can still put food out on the deck in the cold. That is if the dog from 2 doors down can be blocked from entering our yard.

So while no projects have really been completed I have completed some items on my goals list.

Oh and my Baby Lock sewing machine has been repaired and Kris picked it up and has it in his house. We will need to go up for a visit very soon.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Midweek And No Panic This Month

It has been a lovely month. The beginning of the month was pretty warm, though it did cool off over Thanksgiving. It then seemed that the temperature went up and down. We had rain with the threat of snow that did not arrive, and lots of wind.

A month to begin the nesting process, which has been moving along now that my arm is so much better. Yes, finally in the last week and a bit I have gained all the motion back, but will have to work on building up some strength in the wrist, hand and arm once again. It is lovely not to have to call Harvey to bring up the clean clothes, or open a can for me. I can even use a pen a bit better (well when the trigger finger does not act up).

Since I have been staying home more I am managing to get more done. My hall is clean and tidy, the area around my desk is the same (the desk top is the neatest it has been in years) and I have started on straightening out my pantry a bit. Today I filled containers and over the next few weeks I hope to continue that process. A jar takes up way less room than a bag and has the added benefit of me being able to see what I have. I worked on the pasta cupboard and the baking cupboards today, and while there is more to be done things do look much better.

I have even kept up with my goals and projects for this month and it actually looks like I will get them all done. Knock on wood. Got the pajama bottoms cut out and may even work on getting them sewn before next month. Well that is if my sewing machine decides to behave. I may be pulling the other one out to use. I am thankful every day that I have the number of machines I do.

Made my list of projects/goals for next month and will share them with you now.

1.  Sew pajama bottoms.

2.  Weave Kurt's rug.

3.  Sew rubber backing on the rugs to keep them from slipping.

4.  Knit some mitts.

5.  Embroider another block.

6.  Make spice/soup mixes for the baskets.

7.  Bake for Christmas.

8.  Stock up where possible.

9.  Keep on decluttering.

I plan on staying home much more this upcoming month, and so things should be completed. Many of my goals and projects are one day or less to do.

I am hoping to stock up a great deal more, just in case we get a really nasty winter and take advantage of hopefully lower prices before the new tariffs hit.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Midweek and End of the Month

Last day of the month of April, and the middle of the week falling on the same day. Strange.

I did up the budget today and while we did not do as well as we could have, I still managed to cut the budget by $350.00. That will stay in the account and be the first payment towards the new dining room chairs. I hope to save more next month overall, mainly because I am going to use my envelope money to purchase my plants and Harvey's veggie plants when we go and pick up the haskap/honey berry trees or bushes. I wonder if I can convince him to purchase other fruit bearing bushes while at the greenhouse.

Pulled a few more plants from the long boxes Harvey made for me many years ago. There are a couple to empty, but I will need Harvey's help in doing those.

Project wise, I will only be carrying the jacket and knitting forward into May. I hope to finish one of them at least within a couple of days and get started on the new projects/goals for the month of May.

So looking forward to getting my hands in the dirt once again and watching plants begin to grow. Hey, one of my delphiniums is starting to push its way through the soil. I hope to get a couple growing at least. My idea is to plant a few perennial seeds each year and get the center perennial garden looking lovely once again. I may dig up some of the columbines and give them to Kris or even Kurt to plant in their gardens. Those things spread quickly.

As many of you have suggested I am going to put the word out that I am looking for any plants that they are separating this spring. Most people here do not give them away, rather they try and sell them, to make a bit of cash to purchase more plants and flowers.

Off to get supper started and then I will visit all of you.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Tuesday Tidbits and Stuff

Still cold, but things look to be turning around tomorrow and better yet come the weekend and into the next week.

Finished tidying the pantries and the home canned items as well. Then I moved on the the fridge freezer basket. There are two reasonably large baskets under a pull out shelf. One contains the meals for the week, and the other contains the bits and bobs from leftover roasts, chicken, broth making bones, and things like puff pastry. I am always amazed at how much in the way of leftover food can be put in that basket.

I am pretty sure that I will be able to feed us for a couple of weeks on on the goodies I found. And after the pork roast on Sunday there will be even more bags to use up. There are a few items in my pantry that need using as well so I will be busy trying to find new and interesting ways to use everything. I also know many meals will have leftovers that will be used for another meal or for lunches.

Funny thing is I always swear that this overly packed basket  won't get ahead of me and somehow it does. At least 4 times a year.

Then of course there are all the lentils, rice, beans, pasta and canned meat in the pantry. I have way too many cans of salmon and almost as many cans of tuna.

The first two weeks of March I will be clearing out a few things. this means no monthly menu as such. Rather I will do a weeks plan at a time so as to take advantage of all the riches I have found. This should save us some money as well this coming month as all I will probably be purchasing is some dairy, produce and fruit.

Really happy here as it looks as if I will actually have 4 placemats made out of this loom warp. I hope to finish them off by Friday and have pictures to share of what projects I have been working away on. The only good thing about cold weather and vehicles that won't start, is that one stays home and gets things done.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Not Looking Forward To Rising Costs And New Monthly Goals

I am not looking forward to the rising costs that will take place due to the blanket tariffs that were supposed to take place today, but now will be announced on Tuesday. Then of course there will be our targeted tariffs in reply. All this will do is make life more expensive for both Canadian and American citizenry. We are a much smaller country population wise and GDP wise so this trade war will cause us more problems than our bigger neighbour.

Shopping Canadian is not inexpensive, I have found. In each area of my rather large, sparsely populated country Canadian products are sometimes hard to acquire. I joined a Buy Canadian Facebook page and man, those who live in the east, Alberta, British Columbia and even Manitoba have way more choices than poor stuck in the middle Saskatchewan.

We do have an oil refinery though and the Co-op refinery in Regina hauls gas throughout our province. Surprisingly many of the other provinces do not have that capability as was noted on the "Buy Canadian" page. Thumbs up for that.

Both Canada and the United States will hopefully get through this. I do know that many of us here in Canada will never feel as close to America again.

I haven't listed my goals/projects/plans in awhile so thought I would do so today.

1.  Continue decluttering.

2.  Finish weaving the placemats (changed from tea towels).

3.  Embroider at least one more rose quilt square.

4.  Knit the second blanket for Kurt's friend.

5.  Cut more scrap fabric up either for use in quilts or for tinkle cloths.

6.  Use the leftover fabric from cutting out my coat pattern to make a car blanket.

7.  Sew the tote bag that I stitched 4" squares for the front.

There will more than likely be a few additions depending on how quickly I get these listed projects/goals completed.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Winter Solstice

I am working on some long term goals for next year. Hopefully they will work well with my monthly goals. I have really not posted about my long term goals other then the decluttering one. This upcoming year there will be a few more and those could be slightly more complicated to keep track of. One is me trying to have more low spend/no spend days and another is trying to cut some budget lines. There are a few more that will inter-twine with these. I will list the rest come the new year.

Longest night of the year ahead, now the days will be getting longer. Looking forward to being able to work on projects a bit longer each day.

Kris and the Grandcat are home and Kurt is about 2 hours away. Supper will be held off until he arrives. So looking forward to having both the boys home and staying for a number of days.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Midmonth Goal Roundup

Time to update everyone on what I have accomplished so far this month.

1. Counted cross stitch angel. Plan on getting as much done as possible. Working on this.

2.  Sandwich the baby quilt.  Done

3.  Finish the first lapghan.  Done

4.  Start the next lapghan.  Started and almost halfway completed

5.  Make pantry book.  Done

6.  Make freezer books (I want to get two books done, one for the meat freezer and one for the chest freezer).

7.  Copy at least 14 recipes of the ones we have tried onto index cards. Add them to the recipe album.  Done

8.  Cut out a top.  Done

9.  Cut out a pair of shorts.  Done

I hope to get the one freezer book started tomorrow, perhaps even finished. The chest freezer may take just a bit longer to create. This is the only inventory I am leary of trying to do. So much in there. I am beginning to think I should use some items up before even attempting the inventory.

Off to check in with all of you, and do some more research on the Vitamin D problem. I think when I said "flush it out" I should have used a different term. Everything I have been reading says to cut back on calcium enriched foods or supplements, and drink lots of fluids. Mainly because an excess of Vitamin D can cause calcification in the blood and various organs. That can be flushed out. However since I have osteoporosis I am loath to cut all calcium. I need to read more on Vitamin K because some of my research states this is another method of controlling the amount of Vitamin D in one's body.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Saturday Roundup

Good morning everybody, I slept very well last night. Only had to trudge to the facilities once. However upon getting up this morning, realized the weather had gotten colder and definitely more wintery in that respect.

Yesterday we had a light snowfall from about mid morning to sometime after supper. Not a great deal of the white stuff fell, but enough that now I can see the Bush bunny tracks in the yard, and enough to make traversing the roads a bit hazardous... I actually think we just might have gotten a bit of rain first.

So what will I be up to today on the old homestead?

First off I put away the dishes, cleaned emails and finished my first cup of coffee. After visiting with all of you I will sweep my floors and head downstairs to start putting the Christmas decor away. That is really all I had planned, but I think there might be a loaf of bread being made as well.

I don't have pictures of any of the projects I am working on right now. It has been too dreary to even take a photo. Many a day this past week, the sun did not even come out until mid afternoon. That only gave me a few precious hours (like 2) for embroidery work. I seem to have spent most of my time knitting dishcloths. Not complaining as my stash of dishcloths has dwindled over the last year.

So what to share with you today....

I decided that perhaps listing my goals/plans for the month would be a good thing. I know it would make me accountable for them.

1.  Embroider one quilt block.

2.  Phone to rent cabin for reunion.  Done

3.  Copy out 14 recipes onto index cards from file of loose ones.

4.  Take down Christmas.

5.  Cut out a summer dress.

6.  Message friend about the serger I am sending her.  Done

7.  Knit some dishcloths.

8.  Download some more embroidery patterns.

9.  Make cough drops.

10.  Cut up flannel and finish edges (this is one part of my quest to be a bit more frugal).

11.  Figure out what to put in box in sewing/craft room. Done

So those are my goals and projects for this month.

The additions towards a more frugal and simple life this year, to be worked on this month you already know...

Move more

Drink more water

Organize

Declutter

Use Up

Portion out large leftovers to freeze and make sure to freeze any leftovers after the second day of eating. Chances are they won't be eaten for lunch readily the next day.

Once all those have become a habit I will move on to the next few plans.

This could turn out to be an interesting year, with hopefully a few gains on the frugal front.

Everybody have a wonderful day.

God bless.

Saturday Roundup

This week has been so foggy, dark and dreary (except for the last two days) that lights have had to be turned on most of the day. So nice that I have been able to turn them off at least a few days.

I have been working on decluttering cupboards and making it easier for me. Now all my baking supplies are in one cupboard (well most of them), lesser used appliances are in a lower cupboard (meaning I will be crawling in after a few once in a while) and the toaster is near the breadbox. More to straighten, move around and tidy next week.

I took a break from the above today to work on my sewing. Got one dress finished, pulled the next cut out pattern (another dress, this the one I wanted to get done for Christmas) and threads. Spent part of today reading the directions. Oh, my, oh, my. This one is complicated. I will start tomorrow off marking dots and such, as well as cutting some fusible interfacing. I may get a very few seams done. This will definitely be a take your time and get it right Jackie sewing session.

I was asked what I was stocking up a years supply of. Well mostly cleaning supplies, and personal care items. Costs are rising rapidly in this area, at least around here and I am hopeful that by getting at least a years supply (or close to a year, if not more) I can manage to keep inflation at a reasonable level and perhaps spread it out over a few months next year.

So I have now gotten a years supply of bath soap, razor blades for Harvey's shaver, dust cloths (at least until I can get around to making reusable cloths for the swifter), SOS cleaning pads, and shampoo for both Harvey and I.

Next trip I am hoping to pick up some big refill bottles on sale, like dish soap, window cleaner, Shout stain remover, and Mr. Clean. I am also wanting to pick up deodorant for myself, floss, and perhaps an extra package or two of dishwasher tabs (unless the clothes washer tabs are on sale and I will get those instead). Really though it all depends on what I can find on sale. I may also make a trip to our Dollar store to see what I can find there.

Each trip I make over the next few months will be adding to the stash. I already stock up on grocery sales, so this will just be an extension of that.

I had thought of making my own cleaning supplies, but right now I am going to focus my attention on making lotions and potions. I also want to try my hand at making cough lozenges, and some basic oil rubs instead of using things like A535 or Voltarin.  Once I get that down pat and able to make them quickly, I will try my hand at a few simple cleaning supplies.

There is a great deal that I can't stock a years supply of like paper towels, tissues, and of course toilet paper. There are things I just won't stock a years supply of like toothpaste, vitamins, anything that has an expiration date that just might not allow me to use it before the date.

So that is my plan for this year. Wish me luck.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Update On November Goals and Goals For This Month

Well time to update you all on my November goals and list my December goals. My that month went by very quickly. Sure glad my list was not long.

1.  Finish knitted blanket for Kurt's friend. Done.

2.  Start and finish Kris's Christmas gift.  Working on it.

3.  Make some Christmas ornaments.  Done.

4.  Work on t-shirt/knit fabric rug.  Got more strips ready to use.

5.  Make a work apron for Harvey for Christmas.  Turned the work apron into a gardening apron.

6.  Make potholders and oven mitts for the sons.  Oven mitts made. I even got a pair made for Harvey. I all of a sudden realized I made them pot holders last year.

7.  Start Christmas baking and candy making.  Started on the last day of the month, so there is a long way to go.

8.  Christmas cards done and make the phone call list for Christmas messages.  Done

So not too bad, I just wish that the baking and candy making was completed or at least close to being done.

Now on to December goals.

1.  Finish Kris's gift.

2.  Finish baking and candy making.

3.  Decorate the house.

4.  Sew Harvey's pj bottoms.

5.  Make donation in Harvey's name to the Salvation Army.

That's it for this month at least so far. Who knows what I could add as the month goes by.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

November Goals

Well I think it is about time I shared my monthly goals with you all. I think there are a few less this month.

1.  Finish the knitted blanket for Kurt's friend.

2.  Start and finish Kris's Christmas gift.

3.  Make some Christmas Ornaments.

4.  Work on t-shirt rug.

5.  Make a work apron for Harvey for Christmas.

6.  Make pot holders and oven mitts for the boys.

7.  Start Christmas baking and candy making.

8.  Get Christmas cards done and make list for Christmas phone calls.

So there it is my list for this month. While it is shorter there is still a great deal to accomplish.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Menu Monday and Update on Goals for October

It's a brand new month and today we have had lovely lazy snow flakes off and on all day. We also had 9 children last night for Trick or Treat, 3 of the children I expected did not show up. Kind of sad about that.

So here is the menu for this upcoming week.

Monday

Butternut Squash soup and tuna melts.

Tuesday

Lazy Cabbage rolls. I plan on making a few trays for the freezer so may as well make one extra to have for supper.

Wednesday

Clean out the fridge. Should be lots to choose from. I will make a salad as well.

Thursday

Leftover Turkey made into a kind of pot pie. Leftover salad.

Friday

Tuna casserole and any leftover salad or C will make Brussels sprouts.

Saturday

I plan on making a big pot of chili so hopefully there will not only be leftovers for another meal, but enough to freeze as well.

Sunday

I think perhaps we should go out for supper, date night. I will pick a place that shouldn't be too crowded.

So there is our menu for the week.

Now on to how I did on the goals for this past month.

1.  Work on t-shirt rug.  I have worked a bit on this.

2.  Make Christmas cards.  Done.

3.  Cut out pieces for Kurt's Christmas quilt.  Done.

4.  Finish my quilt.  I don't think this will happen but I have worked on hand quilting this month.

5.  Finish Kurt's quilt.  Done

6.  Knit 2 Secret Santa Scarves.  Finished and actually have knit 4

and working on number 5.

7.  Finish off harvesting the garden and cleaning off the deck.  Done.

8.  Remove spring/summer clothes and put in the fall/winter clothes.  Done.

9.  Repot lemon trees.  Done.

10. Cut more strips from cut up old t-shirts and leftover scraps of knit fabric.  Done.

And if there is time

11. Work on counted cross stitch.  Nope.

12. Make dryer balls.  Tried but used a pretreated wool yarn so things did not work. I will perhaps order the correct yarn online later this month.

So not to bad for the month. But now it is crunch time and I need to get my butt in gear. Don't ask me why Blogger highlighted everything. Hope the colours don't bother people too much.

Will be posting this months goals on Wednesday.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Saturday Roundup and A Bit of Catching Up (Yet Again).

I did the budget entries yesterday and am quite happy with the results. While as usual I was over in the grocery department, we were under budget in all other areas. Under total budget by a great deal as well. Makes me very happy.

We had a meeting with our financial person at the bank and Harvey has moved his RRSP into a RIFF. We don't have to touch this until the new year and she put it in my name so the tax hit will be slightly lower. I then moved around some of the money in one of my GIC's and told her that very soon we will more than likely be moving cash into our Tax Free Savings Accounts. Better the money in our pockets than the governments.

Worked on a few of the monthly project goals and and a bit of extra cleaning was done. Garden harvested except for the peppers and eggplant, which I hope to get done in the upcoming week.

I had a meeting last night at the church about the Bible Study we are holding. Something very strange happened, when the time came for us to choose what sessions we wished to lead I gave my choice and one of the gentlemen (he is someone I have known for many years as he was a teacher in my husbands hometown) made a huge sigh, rolled his eyes and kind of threw his phone on the table. He also muttered something under his breath, but with a mask on it was hard to make it out. Say what... A man who is probably older than my husband making such a fuss. I was shocked.

So there is the roundup of the weeks highlights.

So now to catch up. Since we had that meeting last night I missed my Frugal Friday post.

1.  All washing on the outside lines.

2.  Turned up the air conditioner as there is no need to keep the house as cool as we do during the very hot summer months.

3.  Opened the windows at night, that cools the house off nicely for most of the morning.

4.  Started my biweekly shopping this week. It went not too badly. However spending such a long time in stores is kind of scary. I hope to cut the shopping time down bit by bit.

5.  Using up small balls of yarn, scraps of fabric, and all leftovers.

6.  Put $55.00 in my savings envelope.

Next on my catching up are the project and other goals I have for this month.

1.  Work on t-shirt rug.

2.  Make Christmas cards.

3.  Cut out pieces for Kurt's Christmas quilt.

4.  Finish my quilt.

5.  Finish Kurt's quilt.

6.  Knit 2 Secret Santa Scarves.

7.  Finish off harvesting the garden and cleaning off the deck.

8.  Remove spring/summer clothes and put in the fall/winter clothes.

9.  Repot lemon trees.

10. Cut more strips from cut up old t-shirts and leftover scraps of knit fabric.

And if there is time

11. Work on counted cross stitch.

12. Make dryer balls.

So that brings me up to date with what is going on around the old homestead.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

Thursday Tidbits

The end of another month has arrived. Time to fess up to how well or not well I managed to do with my project goals this month.

So onto the goals for this month.

1.  Cut the clothing my friend bought that belonged to her Dad to make a quilt for remembrance. Done.

2.  Start the quilt and finish it. Done.

3.  Work on T-shirt rug. Started yesterday and will continue until the end of this week.

4.  Watch the Bible Study Video's and chose which one/ones I would like to lead and pick which time I will attend. Done, I will be letting them know which I want to lead and the time I will be able to attend tomorrow at our meeting.

5.  Work on Cross Stitch. Nada

6.  Make Salsa. Done

7. Knit two scarves. Managed to knit 4.

8.  Finish little guys prayer shawl. Done.

9.  Sew labels on finished prayer shawls and drop them at the church. Done.

10.  Sandwich the quilt top that is in the sewing/craft room. Perhaps even get it quilted and bound (that could be pressing things though). Quilt is sandwiched and ready for the next steps.

11.  Make Eggplant Parma for the freezer. Done.

So all in all a good month for projects. I hope that next months projects go as nicely.

Here are a few pictures of the projects this month. Scarf wise I think this is two months worth as I am not sure if I posted my August scarves. And I forgot to ask my friend for a picture of the quilt I made for her.

Scarves to add to the collection.

The t-shirt rug as far as I have gotten.

And lastly while not a project I thought I would show you how big my lemon trees have gotten, and the two succulents I brought in to overwinter.

Oops forgot the picture of my sandwiched quilt.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

A New Month, Update on Goals, New Monthly Goals

Well I guess I had better own up to how poorly I did last month, though I do have a bit of an excuse for failing.

1.  Work on cross stitch. Not done at all.

2.  Make those darn cards I keep putting off. Ditto with this.

3.  Work on t-shirt rug. I did do a bit of work on this.

4.  Sandwich and quilt one top (perhaps even get some binding on it as well). Done

5.  Cut the denim from those jeans that Kurt brought home into 4" squares. Done

6.  Knit two scarves.  Got one scarf done.

7.  Work on processing the garden produce.  Been working on this one constantly.

One of the reasons I did not get more done is that a little fellow saw his grandmother's prayer shawl and asked if her friend would make him a green one. I found green yarn in my stash and have been working on that. As the yarn is fairly fine, it is taking much longer than I thought it would.

I also needed to clean up my sewing/craft room so that I had the space to work on those cards. I should be able to do them this month.

So onto the goals for this month.

1.  Cut the clothing my friend bought that belonged to her Dad to make a quilt for remembrance.

2.  Start the quilt and finish it.

3.  Work on T-shirt rug.

4.  Watch the Bible Study Video's and chose which one/ones I would like to lead and pick which time I will attend.

5.  Work on Cross stitch.

6.  Make Salsa.

7. Knit two scarves.

8.  Finish little guys prayer shawl.

9.  Sew labels on finished prayer shawls and drop them at the church.

10.  Sandwich the quilt top that is in the sewing/craft room. Perhaps even get it quilted and bound (that could be pressing things though).

11.  Make Eggplant Parma for the freezer.

Long list, but if I put my mind to it I can probably make a huge dent in it.

I was asked if it was hard to grow eggplants. The answer is not really. They love hot weather so this growing season has been perfect. The problem I find is getting seeds or plants. It used to be very easy when I first started growing them, but now gardeners have found out how wonderful fresh eggplants are in comparison to store bought and finding plants or seeds is very difficult. This year Kris found some seeds and started them in his little greenhouse for me. We had thought they might not make it, but finally took hold and really grew like weeds.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Sunday Ramblings

Just another week getting things either started or completed.

I was asked why we will catch and release the bunny, fact is they seem to enjoy eating things in the garden, and the bigger they get the more they manage to eat. So just like the one last year, once it gets to the size where he/she is able to survive in the wild we will move him/her out of the city.

Now on to my goals for the month of July.

1.  Finish quilt top.  Done

2.  Make those cards I planned on doing last month. Not even thought about

3.  Work on the cross stitch.  Done but lots more to go.

4.  Get that rag/t-shirt rug started at least.  Started

5.  Knit 2 more Secret Santa Scarves if not more.  Actually knit three scarves and started a fourth.

6.  If I finish all those start to sandwich the two quilt tops I will have to move onto the next steps. Not done.

Some of these were not completed as I did some little projects instead.

I made new cushion covers for three of the pillows in the living room. I also cut up the jeans that our oldest Kurt brought home. So a bit of a carry over will happen again this month.

On to Augusts monthly goals.

1.  Work on cross stitch.

2.  Make those darn cards I keep putting off.

3.  Work on t-shirt rug.

4.  Sandwich and quilt one top (perhaps even get some binding on it as well).

5.  Cut the denim from those jeans that Kurt brought home into 4" squares.

6.  Knit two scarves.

7.  Work on processing the garden produce.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.

Monthly Goals

It has been a very long time since I did a monthly goals post, and it seems I need the boot in the behind that posting gives me.

That being said here are my goals for this month.

1.  Knit at least two scarves for my Secret Santa escapades in December.

2.  Get more of the angel cross stitch completed (I know it won't totally be done, but I am going to try my best).

3.  Get one more quilt top done.

4.  Hem my friends Dad's pants.

5.  Make Birthday cards and envelopes.

6.  Place an order for new Blades for my Cricut (found out it is less expensive to order them online than buy them at Michael's or Walmart).

7.  Order some embroidery floss if I can not find any at Walmart of the colours I need.

8.  Start on the rag rug.

I just may have bit off more than I can do, but I will try and see what happens.

Another good bit of news. I managed to get Harvey and I in for our second shots on the 4th of this month. Hopefully they have lots of vaccine and we aren't postponed like the last time. Hurray to being fully vaccinated by the end of the week.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.
