Hello

I thought that perhaps I should make a quick post. I am well, stressed but well (as far as I know). I have another visit with my specialist to go over the results of my pathology report at the beginning of next week. Trying to keep a positive outlook and hoping that if things were bad he would have phoned and got me in earlier.

So I am keeping busy, planting (though I might have been a bit early on that as temperatures are going to drop tonight), walking (lots), reading, and getting excited about finally getting my second covid vaccine (should be able to make an appointment on the 7th of June, Hubby can make an appointment on the 31st of this month). At least a bit of normal is just around the corner.

I have a haircut booked for Friday and really it is about time. Right now I look like everyone's favourite shaggy dog. I am forever brushing my bangs out of my glasses.

Managed to lose some weight I gained over the past year as well. Not much, only about 5 lbs (still have 10 to go to get back to what I was) but it is a start. Now that it is nice out I will be able to lose more hopefully.

Eating down the pantry, saving where and when I can. Perhaps this is a bad thing, but I have actually learned how to order things online. Last thing I ordered were replacement paddles for my bread maker. Bread is now being kneaded perfectly again. I suppose that was really much more frugal than buying a whole new machine. You can even order the bread pan!!!!

We still do not go out shopping much, I am still combining trips for bill paying, and shopping. I have even done the same buying plants.

Tried a few new recipes some have gone over well, others not so much. This is helping clean up the fridge and freezers a bit.

Took on some sewing jobs and made a bit of extra cash. That has been put in my savings envelope and when we can actually shop in the big city stocking up is going to be great.

I have also used up many a skein and ball of yarn over the past while. Put away the cross stitch as I just can't seem to find my mistake. I will get started on another cross stitch project.

Kurt is still hunting down and posting about the bad guys. Another stress causer, but Harvey and I both know he will never quit.

Kris is still working mostly from home. Hopefully he will be home this weekend (it is a holiday weekend here, so three days off). He started some eggplant for me and will be bringing those back for us to plant in the garden. Love me some eggplant.

So life carries on pretty much as normally as possible here. The days come and go with great regularity. Nothing too exciting  really happens any more.

Hopefully by Tuesday night I will have good news to share with all of you.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  2. It's wonderful to hear from you. I'm sorry you are stressed but I sure do understand. I have found that if a medical test result is not good they will call you right away, so if you have not heard anything I hope that means all is well. I'll keep you in my prayers. Enjoy your weekend with Kris if he can come home. You and Harvey take care!

  3. Lovely to see you back on your blog again. I'm struggling to lose weight too and have a lot more than 10lbs to go still. I dare not use my breadmaker! I'm having my first crack at growing aubergine (egg-plant) this year as my neighbour gave me two plants.

  5. I'm so pleased to hear that life is slowly getting back to 'normal' for you too, Jackie, a good haircut will make you feel so much better. Well done on the weight loss! 5lb off is amazing whilst still not going out so much. Fingers crossed for your treatment too. Sending ((hugs)) x
PS wish Kurt could hunt down the 'bad gal' next door to us. She needs someone strong minded to confront her.
    Stay well x

  6. Glad to see you here - I'm hoping your pathology reports are good.

We're getting rain here today, not as much as we need I suspect but at least it isn't snow.

    Enjoy your visit with Kris.

  7. Ordering online makes life soooo much easier... I'm glad you discovered it. This post is a bit confusing to me. I don't know anything about any "bad guys". Did you explain that in an earlier post & I missed it? Your blog is usually one that I visit everyday... so maybe my senior mind has simply stashed the information away & forgotten where I put it. *lol* Anyway, I hope you get a wonderfully well health report and that whoever these "bad guys" are will leave you folks alone. Love, Andrea xoxo

  8. I will pray that all goes well with your report. I would be nervous and have been in the past and then it is nothing.
