Well, I only have one room left to spring clean and should be able to get that done tomorrow. I still have all the drapery to do, but hopefully the weather co-operates and I can get it done over the next week. The day started off beautifully, but the temperature started to fall, the wind came up and it got cloudy. Then the rain came. Not complaining though as things could be much worse.
First off I thought I would share a picture of how well Kris's arm has healed.
So very much better and you can actually see how close he was to hitting tendons. One very lucky accident prone person there.
Kurt is back in London in the UK and will be catching a plane home with the students and other chaperones early tomorrow morning. They should be home around 6 tomorrow night and back to school and other jobs tomorrow.
Now on to other things I have managed to complete this month.
More tinkle cloths made. I got another 20 done of various flannelette fabric scraps I found in my 4 and 6 inch cut squares.
One of the two flimsy's I made to use up some of the 4" squares I have collected over the years.
The first flimsy I got made using a regular 9 patch kind of pattern.
I am hoping to have pictures of the finished jacket, and the finished nightgown next week. Things have been moving along slowly, mostly because of the spring cleaning.
Also made up the menu for next month, the extra cleaning list of things I do once a month, and started the project goal list for May as well.
Decluttering is moving along, and while not everything is a big item, there are many small items being donated. I guess I could try and raise some cash using our online Garage Sale sites, but sometimes that is way more work than just giving things away.
Off to set the table and then visit all of you.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
Wow, that is quite the improvement on Kris' arm! He is one lucky man.
ReplyDeleteYou are dedicated. I said I was going to vacuum today and didn't even do that small task!
That’s youth for you! It’s looking good and I’m glad it’s healing so well.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing well Jackie - spring cleaning is a massive job. Those flimsy's are just lovely - such pretty colours. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat progress, and that's a lucky injury -- damaging a tendon would have been horrible and it looks well heeled.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me how you use the tinkle cloths? Where do you store them after use? I use a bidet and don't wipe when tinkling. But for the other stuff, I spray then suds/clean by hand, then rinse and dry -- and can lean forward in our small bathroom to wash my hand. So, I don't need tp. But I would like to have cloths in my rotation too. So any info would be helpful. Thanks!
Kris was extremely lucky (if the accident had to happen). It looks so much better than it did. You're doing well with your cleaning efforts and being creative too.
ReplyDeleteYou must be so pleased he has healed so well.
ReplyDeleteKris is truly fortunate to not have a worse injury and to heal so quickly. As for Kurt and his students and chaperones, I'll bet they'll all be ready for at least a day off after the long flight.
ReplyDeleteYour flimsy's are so pretty. That is one project I've never tried as I'm so bad at cutting things properly, and I can't sew a straight line either.
You did really well getting your spring cleaning done so quickly! Way to go! Kris’s arm looks good, I’m glad it healed up so well.
ReplyDeleteHis wrist looks so much better. You have really gotten a lot done. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteYour son's wound really is healing up well, thank goodness. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your jacket and nightgown.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts!
