The Collins Gage Canadian dictionary defines thrift as economical management, the habit of saving.
In thinking of this definition perhaps my greatest thrifty endeavor has been knitting 4 afghans/blankets out of orphan balls of yarn and the little bits and bobs of skeins that remained from other projects. That's a great deal of knitting for very little cost. It also enabled me to enjoy a hobby and donate the finished projects to a place where they will have a good home.
I am not quite finished the fourth blanket (just a bit more to do) but give me one more day and it will be completed. Pictures will be posted ASAP.
