Tuesday Tidbits and Stuff

I didn't make it to the crafting time at the art room in our complex today. I have a slightly upset tummy, that caused a bit of a problem at various times throughout the day. I will make sure to get to the next one though. I can do some extra tasks on Monday to make sure the day is clearer for next weeks visit.

So stayed home got caught up on tasks I did not get completed yesterday due to the mix up at the pharmacy, and grocery shopping. There is still some decluttering that I should do, just need to pick an area to work on.

Earlier today I sliced 3 packages of mushrooms bought on sale and got them into the dehydrator.

I managed to get quite a few out of those packages. I have one more to do and then I am going to dehydrate some celery.

First ever trial of ham and bean soup on the stove as well. Smells very good. I will be adding some sliced carrots, diced potato, and onion as well as the bits of cooked ham. Biscuits sound great, but without a large working oven could be a problem getting made. I will stick with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Crafting did take place and I will continue with this tomorrow as I want to get all the blocks for the quilt top sewn together. This is going to be a small lap quilt as I really did not have enough 4" flannelette squares. Hoping that this is finished very quickly as there are many other projects I need to get done this month.

This is what our ground looks like right now.

We are getting snow, it has been coming down for about 2 1/2 hours now. Not much accumulation, but goes to show how spring is still a ways away. Life on the Canadian prairies is nothing if not very strange. This kind of weather makes me glad that I am in the house and not out working.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. Sorry you missed crafting time but I think you made up for it at home.
Welcome to spring in Canada - one minute warm, the next snowing.

  2. A good size storm is moving in tonight with a lot of rain and snow in the mountains. We go back and forth too.

  3. Hopefully you’ll get to go to the crafting next week. The blue and white quilt squares are such a beautiful color. I’ve always liked white and blue together.

  5. We had snow here, probably about a cm or so actually stuck. It's warmed up this morning and now we have dense fog. I'm hoping it burns off soon.

  8. An upset tummy is no fun do hope you are feeling much brighter now. Theres nothing nicer than a big pot of homemade soup on a cold day.

  9. You've been very productive. Drying the mushrooms is a great idea. I have a dehydrator, but rarely use it which is a total waste.

  10. It's spring where I live which means heaters on and then later, windows open and back and forth we go for a bit. I LOVE to dry mushrooms when they go on sale at Aldi.
