This will be a week of using things up from the fridge and freezers. We are heading out for a bit of a holiday and I want to have everything as cleaned out as is possible.
Monday
Pasta salad.
Tuesday
Leftover ham made into a casserole with scalloped potatoes. Using up the remainder of the tossed salad as well (or it could be some sliced cucumbers and dip).
Wednesday
Clean out the fridge.
Thursday
Pork chops, mashed potatoes and peas.
Friday
Perogies, sour cream and bacon bits.
Saturday
Hot dogs, pasta, and sliced cucumbers.
We are leaving Sunday and will be gone for a week. Hopefully my fridge will be pretty much empty.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
I'm having freezer Fortnight to concentrate eating down the freezer. This will be repeated every month until the freezer can be cleaned out and stocked for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAn extended relative has started dialysis and I've committed to providing a meal once a week. There are dietary considerations of the hemodialysis diet so I'm cognizant of that as I prepare a menu. I hear you about having an empty fridge before going away. I like that feeling when the leftovers are used up and I can start fresh.
ReplyDeleteMonday - leftover chicken pot pie
Tuesday - roast pork, potatoes, carrots
Wednesday - tortellini soup
Thursday - pasta with tuna & artichokes
Friday - leftovers
my freezer is stocked for the winter with foods from my sweet friends.
