I thought I would have some pictures for you of what I have been working on. Nope not going to happen, mainly because I am not finished anything or have enough done on my three ongoing projects to even warrant a photo.
I have been able to work on my embroidery the last couple of days as it has been sunny. This means the other project I need completed has only been worked on in the evening, and the third has been set aside until the toque is finished.
My finger is locking up more so once Christmas is over I am going to do some sewing or weaving and give it some time to get better. I won't totally give up the knitting and embroidery, but will alternate so as not to put as much stress on the finger.
Harvey is going to try eating normally tonight, so I will be able to use up another one of the menus I had planned for the past week. My fridge freezer is getting pretty full once again and I need to clear things out to make room for the Christmas leftovers.
Next week will be fairly quiet as I do not plan on going shopping until perhaps the middle of the week, or just before Kurt and Kristopher arrive for their visit. I may even try and bake some crackers to use on Christmas Day. One challenge to myself is making more items (snacks and such) from scratch. Crackers fall into this. I also found a recipe for cheese straws I would really like to try.
Slowly, slowly things are beginning to be finished and I am taking time to enjoy the season.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
I feel for you with the fingers issues because my hands are regularly visited by Arthur. I don't dare pick up a cup of coffee with one hand anymore for fear my fingers lock up and I drop it. Not fun, so I know what you're going through.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to alternate tasks. Homemade crackers? Sounds good.
ReplyDeleteCheese straws are delicious! I hope your finger gets better by alternating with the sewing. I only have to go out on Thursday next week, so I’ll be able to mostly stay home and work on projects here. Then the Monday of Christmas week we have a family get together and the rest of the time I’ll be at home. I’m looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're making steady progress, even with the challenges! I love how you're balancing creativity and self-care. You’re invited to check out my blog too—hope you find something you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour finger and my wrist. I'm ready for a break from the knitting and crocheting.
ReplyDeleteDo let us know how the crackers turn out. It sounds like a good (and yummy) option.
Glad to hear Harvey feels well enough to go back to regularly scheduled meals. :)
Sounds like your hubby is on the mend...good news! I've never tried cheese straws so I look forward to hearing what you think about them.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are finding time to enjoy the season. I too am getting to the end of my to do list and having more time to relax and just enjoy this time of year.
