I spent some time mending a few things this week. Mending clothing helps them last longer and is one of the thrifty things I learned from my mother many years ago.
I have also been using the defrosted ice from my freezer (we have a slight problem with frost build up) to water my plants. Waste not, want not is my new motto. In fact the water from washing my floor was used to flush the toilet a couple of times.
I wonder what new and innovative thrifty ideas I can come up with over the next week.
Everybody have a wonderful evening.
God bless.
Being thrifty is cool, we couldn't live any other way now.
ReplyDeleteHey Jackie, just a note. I had the same problem with my fridge last week. It is the drain tube that is blocked. Now, you have a sweet dear to help/do it for you, but here is what I did. Empty your fridge freezer to your big freezer. Hope you have room. Empty your fridge contents into coolers with ice or with those frozen ice packs. Unplug your fridge got about 24 hours. You will know that the tube is unblocked when water starts to show up on the floor. If it doesn't, the boil some water and pour it into the tube till it runs free. By the way, my floor barely got wet. After the tubes is cleared, plug the fridge back in. When you push the fridge back into it's spot, make sure you leave roughly three inches behind. Without the air circulation, it will freeze up again. Mine is humming away again. Hope you have a great long weekend. Go Bombers Go. Lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean, I am going to get Harvey to take a look at the fridge tomorrow to see if that is the problem.
