Frugal Friday

After two days of rain, snow and wind today was sunny, decently warm, and no precipitation at all.

So what frugal things have I been up to.

Well today I cooked up the remaining eggplants. More parma for the freezer and heck Harvey got so excited when he smelt it cooking supper plans changed from pancakes to eggplant.

I did my 2 week shopping (getting much quicker at it as well) and managed to save $37.41. Still prices have risen quickly and sale prices are not as good as months and years past.

I bought the yarn to make Kurt's friend a knitted blanket. After I finish the scarf I am working on I will start that.

I put $7.60 in the change jars. That includes a dime I found on my walk one day.

I put $30.00 in my savings envelope. I wish it could have been more.

I got a free desk calendar and one for my purse in the mail.

We both got free flu shots at the pharmacy.

I got a free salad dressing at the grocery store.

We used up all leftovers this week.

Paid all bills online.

I hope you all had a lovely frugal week.

The other great thing is that the head office of the bank fixed their error. Whew.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. You had some nice wins this week. We also got free flu shots, and our pharmacy was giving away free scoops of ice cream, so I even was able to entice the kids to get their shots. ;-)

  2. Happy to hear the bank resolved the issue quickly for you. It used to be you could call your local branch and get things resolved, but now it's a faceless, nameless group in a Head office somewhere...not nearly as efficient.

    Have a good weekend!

  3. Sounds like a good and frugal week, Jackie. It’s been a long time since I made eggplant Parmesan and it is so good too. I need to make that soon.

  4. How annoying about the bank error. Two weeks is much too long to wait for your money back, I'm so glad they got it sorted quickly. Gosh, snow already 😲 I hope it's a bit longer away for us!.
Frugal things for us this week have been getting to grips with electricity and gas consumption in our new bungalow and setting new budgets for everything. We got our flu shots a week ago without any serious side effects, thankfully. Have a great week Jackie x

  5. Very glad that the bank issue got sorted out. I'm doing battle with the cell phone company at the moment so I know how frustrating it can be. And I agree that the prices on food is climbing dramatically. Last year we were able to buy turkeys at 99 cents/lb and this year the cheapest we found were $1.69/lb....quite a jump! Got our flu shots yesterday, after a huge debacle at the pharmacy because their system was down. So much for making an appointment and downloading the needed 'code' to make it faster and smoother!
