Frugal Friday

I am finding it very hard to believe that another full week has gone by since my last Frugal Friday post. Where are the days going????

I must admit that I did not get the binding started on the quilt, but will do so tomorrow. I helped Harvey level the fridge which consisted of me removing items from the interior and on top, and standing on the pry bar so he could get the leveling wheels turning. Problem, those wheels would just not turn so now Hwe have small blocks of wood under it. Then I got to load his arms with all his tools (still trying to figure out why he needed so many, most of which he did not use) and finally restore the fridge items to the now level fridge. Used up a bit of my quilting time.

So what frugal things have been happening around here.

1.  Hung up as much as I possibly could on the lines downstairs.

2.  Used up all those leftover meals from the freezer in the fridge.

3.  Only drove once this week.

4.  Walked almost every day for exercise, and while I did not always reach 10K steps, did the best that I could.

5.  Happily with the drapes open during the day and then closed when the sun goes down the furnace has not cut in until 9 or 10 at night. It has been below freezing so we really need the furnace on right now.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. N American climates are so varied. We are now needing to turn the heat on in the morning to take the chill off but running it more will come soon enough.

  2. I'm with you in wondering how the weeks are speeding by so fast. You'd think, with all the time we spend at home now, that the weeks would drag but they certainly aren't.
Loved the description of standing on the crowbar - and even more the fact that he thought to USE the crowbar in the first place! Our stove goes out of level every time we clean under it and it ends up with me down on the floor messing with the 'feet' whilst Resident Chef hold the stove up.
Frost here last night for the first time - not a heavy one, fortunately, but harbinger of what's to come.

  3. It sounds like a real chore getting the fridge leveled. If I ever buy another one I'll have to remember to make the guys who deliver it do that for me.

    Take care, stay well.

  4. Woman are just more efficient by nature. Ned to mend a seam. A needle that is it and some thread. But the tool is the needle.

  5. To answer your question, the yarn I'm using is Soft and Shiny by Loops and Threads. I picked this particular variegated yarn at Michaels on clearance sometime in the last year. I've made a sweater with it and now this scarf. I really like the yarn, it works up really well, doesn't have any knots in it, though I must admit it will snag.

  6. I’m glad your refrigerator is level now. Somethings are hard to turn for some reason. I had to take a pair of players the other day to get the steamer lid to come off so I could refill it with water.
