Sunday Ramblings

Just a quick post today as I promised you all some pictures of finished projects.

Today has been more or less a day of playing catch up and working on a few things. Of course the weather has worked perfectly in allowing this to occur. Cold, rain one minute, snow the next, who would even want to be out in that type of weather. Certainly not me and I am so happy that most outside jobs have been completed for the winter.

So what did I do today?

First off I decided to get at least 10 Christmas cards made this morning.

Just a simple horse, but in looking at these now I wish I would have used red card stock. Oh well the pearl/glittery white does look a bit like snow. I hope to get a few more of a different pattern done over the next week. Another 10 or 12 will give me enough for special people this Christmas.

Next I worked in the ends of yarn on the scarves. The grey ones are not showing up very well at all. I just used a simple moss stitch as we call this in Canada, I think it has another name in the United States.

Then it was time to clip threads on the quilt. Here it is finished and ready to bundle up in a Christmas bag.

One gift down and a number to go. Hope I manage to get everything completed.

Everybody have a wonderful evening.

God bless.

  1. I love the colorful superhero quilt! I'm sure your son will enjoy it. Your Christmas cards a great too! You are saving a lot to make your own because they keep getting more expensive to buy. Keep warm!

  2. These are great ideas, Jackie. I need to be doing the same, making gifts to give this year. Thank you for the inspiration.

  3. I had to look up moss stitch and really like the effect. It said it is similar to the seed stitch but changes every two rows instead of every row as with the seed stitch. Does that sound right?

    1. Juhli, that would be what we call a double moss stitch. Regular Moss stitch is exactly the same as a seed stitch. I love a double moss stitch and just might have to use that the next time I make a one colour scarf. It is a stitch that is suitable for men which is why I used it on the grey.

      God bless.

  5. All lovely projects! I'm too cheap to make cards - I usually buy them after Christmas on discount though I've been using up old boxes of them for the last few years. I send less cards than I once did.

    Take care, stay well!

  8. I used to make all our Christmas cards years ago but then the list grew and I finally gave it up. Now I've cut the list back dramatically but I'm still not going back to making cards. Having said that I still make 2 or 3 for extremely special people.
    The quilt looks great!
